Fire Inspector Series - Hiring Incentive

The Surprise Fire Medical Department seeks a Fire Inspector to join our team!

Fire Inspectors work independently and collaboratively with other city departments, residents, and businesses to ensure the City of Surprise grows safety and efficiently.

The Fire Inspection team consists of three levels with placement based on experience and certifications in Fire Inspection, Fire Cause and Fire Plan Review.

A successful candidate will be organized, be able to effectively handle multiple priorities in a field and office setting, a team player and committed to providing excellent customer service.

• Fire Inspector I
• Fire Inspector III
• Fire Inspector II

SUMMARY

Fire Inspectors will perform a variety of technical inspections of public, commercial, industrial, residential and other buildings and premises to secure compliance with the City's fire prevention codes and regulations; investigates complaints and violations and require corrective action; conducts investigations of fires, explosions and hazardous material(s) releases; and develops fire safety codes, regulations and educational programs.

In addition to the above, Fire Inspector IIs will work with greater independence and perform more complex technical inspections and function with minimal instruction.

In addition to the above, Fire Inspector IIIs will review plans for new developments, new construction, and tenant improvements.
