Salary
Salary Ranges:

• Grant Accountant II: up to $62,747.36, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
• Grant Accountant III: up to $69,201.60, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

Hours per Week
Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions
Grant Accountant II/III
Job Summary:
To assist in the financial management of sponsored projects through the application of basic fiscal principles and administrative regulations governing grants and contracts. Responsible for the application of intermediate accounting knowledge to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and the acquisition of extramural funds.

Required Qualifications
Grant Accountant II/III

• Personal computer, accounting software, Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
• Two years of experience in grant or related accounting or post award administration of sponsored projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Grant Accountant III

• Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
• Four years of experience in grant or related accounting and/or post award administration of sponsored projects.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Grant Accountant II/III

• Similar experience in a governmental or higher education environment.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a concentration in accounting or a related field.
• Two years of grant accounting experience to include financial reporting and account reconciliation.
• Accounts receivable collections experience.

Grant Accountant III

• Four years of grant accounting experience to include financial reporting and account reconciliation.
• Similar experience in a governmental or higher education environment.
• Accounts receivable collections experience.

Working Conditions

• Occasional evening and weekend hours.
• Normal office conditions.

Work Modality:
This position will primarily be located on the UTSA Main Campus (1604 location) with a hybrid working modality. The position will require working both on campus and remotely (4 days on campus and 1 day remote per week). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.
