Senior Tax Accountant (Remote)

Overview:

The company is looking to expand its income tax department. The Senior Tax Accountant will have the opportunity to be an integral member of the company’s Corporate Tax Department and will gain exposure to domestic, U.S. international, and foreign tax planning, reporting, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Attend tax trainings to keep up-to-date on technical topics and new legislation.
• Contribute to tax planning projects and special assignments.
• Build relationships with key members of the Corporate Office (Accounting, Treasury, Legal) and local divisions.
• Assist with identifying process improvements and streamlining existing procedures.
• Work with other members of the tax department and internal audit to maintain effective tax controls.
• Key contributor to the U.S. and global tax planning, compliance and tax accounting process, including workpaper preparation and review of tax forms prepared by outside service provider.
• Prepare extensions and quarterly estimated tax payment calculations and vouchers.
• Frequent coordination and communication with local divisions and outside service provider to ensure efficient and timely filings.
• Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and year-end tax provision, including computation of book-to-tax differences, state calculations, and data entry into Tax Provision software (e.g., OneSource).
• Research and prepare responses to tax notices from various taxing jurisdictions.
• Research federal, state, and U.S. international tax issues.

Basic Qualifications:

• Team player
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• 3+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or industry
• Excellent interpersonal, communicative, and organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related)

• Certified Public Accountant is a plus
