Position Overview
Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for creating positive work environments? We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Evans Transportation, a proud member of MRA. In this role, you will play a vital part in executing all HR functions within our organization. You'll be responsible for areas such as compensation and benefits, performance management, recruitment and staffing, and staff training and development. Your primary focus will be on updating, implementing, and enforcing HR policies and programs that align with our business strategy and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Execute all activities of the HR department, including payroll processing.
Manage employee benefits programs and facilitate open enrollment changes.
Collaborate with leadership to update and maintain the compensation program.
Administer the performance management program and incorporate succession planning.
Lead recruitment efforts, from job postings to onboarding.
Assist with disciplinary actions and exit interviews.
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, maintaining the employee handbook.
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Lead special HR projects, such as system implementations.
Maintain employee personnel files and oversee records retention.
Engage employees through company events and initiatives.
Conduct training and presentations on HR topics.
Recommend strategies to improve employee retention and foster a positive work culture.
Collaborate with both in-office and remote staff across the country.
Manage all aspects of payroll and 401k administration.
Administer leave of absence processes and legal compliance.
Additional duties and projects as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of HR experience with expertise in Benefits Administration, Employee Relations, and Organizational Culture.
Preferred: HRCI or SHRM HR Certification.
Proficiency in HR software and relevant applications.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong business acumen and financial understanding.
Ability to maintain trust and credibility at all organizational levels.
Proactive, self-starter with a collaborative work style.
Excellent problem-solving skills and emotional intelligence.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives.
Unbiased and fair approach to employee relations.
Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
