Event Assistant Jobs

The Role

(Part Time) Kitchen and Event Assistant - You will support the Owner and Manager in creating thoughtfully curated and artfully designed Charcuterie, Crudités, Caviar, Lox + Bagel, Vegan and Dessert boards and help prepare and design large scale Grazing Tables.

Responsibilities

• Running errands including grocery shopping, picking up risers/boards from previous events + delivering Charcuterie Boards from time-to-time
• Packing coolers with all items needed for Grazing Tables
• Helping to load cars with all necessary items for events
• Unloading ingredients that are delivered from our distributor and keeping items organized in the fridge
• Ensure all bags and crates are packed and organized and contain all items needed for Grazing Tables/Events
• Kitchen clean-up
• Helping to design Boards + prepare ingredients in containers for Grazing Tables
• Kitchen prep including slicing and cutting cheese and washing and cutting fresh vegetables and fruit
• Keeping inventory of all ingredients + keeping lists of needed items

Qualifications

• Sense of urgency, time management, prioritization and multitasking skills
• Strong cognitive skills
• Food Safety Certification
• Detail oriented
• Availability must reflect the needs of the business, which may change from time to time
• Ability to maintain composure, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills
• 1+ years’ experience in Charcuterie and Cheese retail, specialty store, kitchen prep or hospitality
• High school degree, culinary degree or equivalent experience
• Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to perform the following physical activities regularly: Walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting
• Physically able to load/unload boxes, coolers + crates
• Walking/Standing 90% and sitting 10% of day

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule

• Tuesday to Saturday
• Occasional Sunday availability
