What To Expect
This role will be focused on various types of reporting, using both internal reporting platforms and 3rd party softwares. The person hired for this role will be responsible for design decisions and new projects with regard to our internal platform and working in conjunction with the planning engineering team.
What You’ll Do

• Assist supervisors, material handlers and technicians as an expert in Tesla's Material Handling systems.
• Contribute to reporting including everything from operational plans for logistics and production, to tracking supply-demand and customer delivery timelines.
• Organize the team's SQL Queries and Tableau and other Visualization Dashboards tracking Performance KPI's for warehousing and conveyance.
• Design and improves UI and UX for Tesla's Material handling team with focus on full cycle customer in the loop systems.
• Work with engineering to integrate reporting with other applications so that people can easily access customized reports from the planning web applications.
• Drive inter-departmental initiatives and changes to material flow physical and systematical processes with the goal of cost reduction and process improvement.
• Determine priorities and system improvement projects, generate project timeline charts and track execution with the team.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis and recommends corrective actions on software/systems related issues impacting day to day operations
• Use SQL, Tableau, and our internal platform to build clear, powerful, and fast reporting for the planning team and our partners
• Launch and manage the orientation and training program for techs/customers onboarded to the department, which includes theoretical and practical training.
• Schedule workforce in creating new dashboards and KPI metrics and report out on estimate completion timelines to department management.
• Work cross-functionally to remove roadblocks and resolve problems that are hindering the progress of the projects.
• Working knowledge of design/development of manufacturing systems with emphasis on supply chain material flow and conveyance.
• Maintain, refactor, and update existing reports
• Assist in creating Work Instructions/User Manual on utilizing the software effectively, Train and evaluate departmental personnel.
• Work with data engineering to optimize SQL queries and Tableau extracts.
• Work in a fast-paced operational environment with constant interaction with operations and technicians.
• Plan, design, coordinate and manage to completion capital and continuous improvement projects to meet quality, productivity and cost objectives consistent with departmental goals.
• Establish a clear framework of best practices and design principles that planning reports should follow.
• Gather requirements for new reports or improvements from partner teams.

What You’ll Bring

• Business Systems and Analytics related master’s degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in and the ability to model and implement the following concepts: empowerment and teamwork; TPS leadership philosophy and human resources practices; kaizen; standardized work; PDCA and problem solving; 5S; quality improvement tools; JIT production tools including Value Stream Mapping, lead-time reduction, set-up time reduction, process flow improvement.
• 1-2 years of people management experience or cross-functional project leadership experience is preferred.
• Good business judgment for creating intuitive displays of data
• Strong Tableau skills (or comparable visualization software)
• Well-organized project management skills, program management background a plus.
• Product Management certifications is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of SQL required.
• Advanced PC skills with standard MS Office software.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Strong SQL skills
• Industrial Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain related minimum bachelor’s degree required.
• Preferred candidates will have 3 – 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good design judgment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
• Leadership Style: Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with high level of self-motivation. Must be able to work on own initiative and work well in a group.
• Experience with 3D/2D CAD is preferred.
