At Regions, the Enterprise Operations Mortgage Quality Control Specialist is responsible for the timely review and audit of closed and non-closed mortgage loans through activities such as auditing compliance disclosures and loan closing documents, re-underwriting the loan, credit risk, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/ Office of Foreign Assets Control and fraud prevention, detection, and reporting, reverification of loan application information, data integrity, and property valuations. This position is also responsible for maintaining loan quality by adhering to procedures, federal, state and agency compliance requirements, underwriting and closing guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
Reviews and evaluates non-closed and closed loan files monthly
Ensures the documents used in the loan are appropriate to use, signed and done correctly
Ensures each program has a set of guidelines and reviews files to verify that guidelines are followed
Records notes on issues seen in the file and proposes solutions to address the issues
Logs findings, comments in the system, and gives a rating on the documents
Sends exception memos to management/regional offices with a deadline to correct exceptions noted
Follows up to ensure exceptions are cleared
Logs and analyzes findings from the audits and sends to management
Notifies and presents to management the action items that the field has to complete and return
Identifies potential causes for findings and participates in solution development as well as process and system testing
Acts as a resource for associates with less experience
This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Six (6) years of Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Veteran Affairs (VA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Fannie Mae (FNMA), Freddie Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC), and bond program mortgage underwriting experience/certification
Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to mortgage lending
Skills and Competencies
Ability to learn additional systems as needed
Strong ability to research, analyze data, and derive facts
Ability to work in a team environment when applicable
Ability to work under limited to no guidance
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
Excellent work ethic and self-motivation
Additional
Must have FHA and VA underwriting experience.

Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the national range and level of the position.
Job Range Target:
Minimum: $52,004.70 USD
Median: $70,080.00 USD
Incentive Pay Plans: This job is not incentive eligible.
