Job Description
Quality Control Manager
A successful Quality Control Manager will ensure that products sent out meet client expectations by recognizing defects at all stages of the manufacturing and packaging process to uphold consistent quality standards. You will observe production processes to identify the causes of common types of mistakes or defects. Researching ways to limit human error on the production line and track deficiencies to determine root causes and implement corrective actions will yield great results. Last but not least, you will determine how much waste results from errors on the production line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a Quality Plan
  • Implementing methods to inspect, test, and evaluate products
  • Incoming QC - Responsible for all parts incoming quality control, notifying Engineering about non-compliance, and vendor communication if parts do not meet specification
  • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Eliminating products that are not up to standards, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions
  • Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct
  • Maintain UL files and support quarterly audits
  • Working according to deadlines for the delivery of products
  • Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards
  • Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods
  • Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • Six sigma green belt preferred but not required
  • Basic knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • You have 4-7 years of manufacturing quality control experience, including inbound materials quality inspection and P&L oversight
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with customers, suppliers, and coworkers
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, and other common business and quality control-related software.
