Job Summary
***New Hires may be eligible for a $5,000.00 sign-on bonus.
The EEG Tech III is responsible for the following:

• Provides patient education on studies, and conducts laboratory tours
• Assists more junior technicians with complex studies
• Procedures may include but are not limited to:
• Obtains medical history from patient/families to identify and meet patient-specific needs. (e.g. physical/mental limitations, current physiological status regarding the testing procedure).
• Takes appropriate actions during patient emergency situations and ensures patient safety, including electrical equipment safety in the Labs at all times.
• Troubleshoots recording equipment and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Evaluates students’ recordings and writes a narrative report on students’ progress.
• Set up and run cortical stimulation sessions with Physician’s assistance in OR,ICU,or EMU
• Ensures timely and accurate reporting of procedures in patient charts
• Documents history in the technologist report.
• Intraoperative ECOG, EP monitoring, and cortical mapping procedures during Surgical procedures(MOYA MOYA, Grids & Strips sEEG, etc)
• Autistic and behavioral patient desensitization procedures in the Simulator lab.
• Prepares patients and equipment for procedures.
• High Definition EEG Studies (HDEEG)
• Evoked Potential recordings
• Reviews procedure request provided by ordering physician, and complies with all standard lab protocols.
• Attend technical staff meetings and morning huddles, providing professional input for the development of procedures and protocols.
• Acts as a clinical instructor in the END Technology Program.
• Implements alternative methods or adjusts recordings to obtain optimal recording of clinical EEG, AEEG data.
• Accurately and thoroughly completes documents, forms, and reports.
• Provides training to new hires and less senior technical staff
• Performs procedures according to Laboratory standards and protocols.
• Participates in scientific courses and presents as faculty at meetings on a local, regional, and national basis
• Long-term monitoring on admitted patients in the EMU using scalp or intracranial electrodes.
• Create and modify montages on surface and invasive electrodes

The EEG Tech III is required to do have the following:

• CPR certification within 60 days of hire
• High School diploma/GED
• Four years EEG experience in a clinical setting, with intraoperative experience. Experience performing routine and complex procedures as described.
