About the position: This is an exciting opportunity to lead a highly dependable, experienced team of approximately 15 team members. This is a one shift manufacturing operation housed in our corporate office. The Production Manager is a high impact position that will need to build strong, collaborative relationships across the organization, primarily with Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Service.

Position Alignment

What you can offer us:

1. Production and Assembly Planning: Meeting monthly sales demands (30%)

  • Work with SC Planning and Customer Service to fix issues with part numbers or ship dates on sales orders
  • Measure and report First Pass Yield (FPY) results for product lines and communicate to engineering team as needed
  • Manage order due dates with respect to daily workload; dates should be level loaded as much as possible.
  • Monitor workflow through various stages of production from stock room to shipping
  • Build, coach, develop and lead the Production team to meet production goals.
  • Modify employee work schedules when needed to better respond to monthly sales order demands
  • Monitor parts shortages where sales orders and manufacturing orders are being impacted, communicate as needed to SC Planning
  • Generate and monitor build and test cycle times for all high-volume products
  • Ensure all outgoing shipments are processed timely and correctly to assist with timely invoicing
  • Support the Production meeting to schedule open orders with SC Planning and Purchasing; support Customer Service to respond to customers
  • Review production assembly floor with Assembly Lead for status report

2. Administrative: Mentoring and training through demonstrated challenge resolution (30%)

  • Conduct performance reviews and monthly/quarterly PAGE reviews with individuals to provide timely performance feedback, remove roadblocks, and support team members in their professional growth.
  • Regularly review how we operate, team member performance, and other critical processes to drive continuous improvement in production.
  • PTO scheduling/approval/tracking
  • Timely resolution of production challenges included but not limited to: inventory, production, test, database (BAT, BAT Tools, etc.) or assembly, final inspection (QA) and station A, shipping, RMA.
  • Collaboration with Customer Service on warranty, process, customer concerns, TSE, etc.
  • Perform annual talent review assessments to support development and compensation decisions.
  • Manage the day-to-day performance and help team members understand how to be successful
  • Track expenses for production tools/supplies, shipping supplies, facilities, and team building
  • Weekly Payroll, including Timecard edits
  • Ensure all team member safety requirements, policies, and procedures are established and followed, accidents/near misses are reported timely, and OSHA reporting/recording requirements are followed.

3. Inventory Control: Being good stewards of company resources (15%)

  • Implement improvements for inventory handling methods (storage, stage to stage movement, etc.)
  • Confirm logical receipts of daily incoming materials and physical storage of those receipts
  • Confirm daily cycle counts are managed in the MRP system and completed timely
  • Review cycle counts from various inventory locations per defined cadence

4. RMA: Assisting customers in the routine maintenance or warranty repair (10%)

  • Modify employee work schedules when needed to better respond to incoming RMA volume and monthly sales order demands
  • Monitor daily and monthly throughput
  • Measure and publish RMA on defined cadence
  • Monitor RMA orders for OTD commitments

5. Facilities Management: Keeping our campus in good repair (10%)

  • Bid out and schedule repair appointments for out of order appliances and systems
  • Coordinate individuals (employees) to do minor repairs and fixes around the building as needed
  • Bid out and schedule one-off projects (extra cleaning, maintenance, services)
  • Review service agreement and invoices for landscaping company, janitorial company, and HVAC company
  • Monitor the grounds (internally and externally) for things that need attention

6. Managing myself & my team: Relentless improvement (5%)

  • Monitor daily Advance Cross shipments (ACS) and Return for Credit (RFC) RMA receipts for timeliness
  • Understand my strengths & weaknesses, identify my career desires, develop a plan to get better. Improve my leadership skills, support leadership forum, be a resource to other leaders.
  • Understand key needs of my team, identify holes, develop plan to fill needs, build bench strength, identify & develop high potential people, work with underperforming to improve.
  • Help my team understand more about their strengths. Help them get better & find the career they want. Develop training plans, plan & process compensation, support 121, recognize success.
  • Support and strengthen the culture, clearly understand & communicate purpose & culture.
Requirements:


What do you need to be successful?

  • Maintain factory level loading as much as possible while driving to meet on time delivery to customers.
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvements in manufacturing.
  • Measure and report key process indictors of manufacturing.
  • Ability to operate with various manufacturing models that are aligned with business objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Ensure safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Impeccable integrity and a strong entrepreneurial mindset; motivated to develop and improve operations.
  • 5-8 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Establish priorities, monitor progress revise schedules as necessary to meet required deliver dates.
  • Accountable for all manufacturing activities, including assembly, inventory control, shipping and receiving.
