We're looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic in the Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration (FFA) at the Civil Center for Behavioral Health, Maple Lane psychiatric facility, who is skilled in general maintenance in fields such as plumbing, electrical, welding, carpentry, and machinery. Electrical experience is preferred.
You'll perform a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction of buildings, machinery, mechanical facilities and equipment, and hospital facilities, systems, and equipment.
Due to the nature of this work, we are focusing on journeyman-level experience. If this is you and you are looking for a great opportunity, then we want to hear from you!
Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some of what you'll do
- Clean/change filters, oil, and grease; adjust drive belts; inspect sprockets, shafts, and bearings
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair on equipment such as laundry, kitchen, hospital, and air-conditioning
- Lead work of Maintenance Mechanics
- Maintenance and repairs in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Assure adherence to safety rules and precautions
- Develop solutions to repair and maintenance issues
- Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches.
We're looking for someone with
High school graduation or possession of a GED certificate.
A valid state driver's license.
And
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and 2 years of experience as a journey-level lead worker in building and equipment maintenance, construction, and/or repair work.
Or
Three years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic 2 or equivalent journey-level trade experience.
(Equivalent education/experience will substitute for qualifications, except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.)
Desired
EL01 license or ability to obtain this within one year of employment.
