Pay Range
$126,120 - $163,344 Annually
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
We have an opening for a Maintenance/Construction Electrical Project Coordinator to provide technical and administrative oversight and coordination of maintenance and multi-trade construction projects. You will be responsible for inspecting building electrical asset conditions, coordinating, planning, scoping, and rough cost estimation for work orders and projects supporting repair, modification, and maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure systems. This position is in the Engineering Services Division of the Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Department. This position will require working at Site 200 in Livermore, California and Site 300 in Tracy, California.
You will
- Prepare or review contingency evaluation for estimates, escalation estimates, reconciliations for estimates, and management presentations.
- Develop work packages to include work scope, rough order-of-magnitude cost estimates, material and equipment required for projects on a variety of facility electrical infrastructure and components using an enterprise asset management system.
- Collaborate with high level technical, administrative, and managerial personnel, as well as interact with other internal organizations and outside vendors and contractors.
- Analyze complex data, identify issues, and plan projects to solve problems and implement solutions to maintenance and replacement issues.
- Manage electrical construction and maintenance project or program budgets and report progress to senior management on issues relating to budgets and strategic planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide highly advanced technical and administrative direction and oversight in support of LLNL maintenance and construction electrical projects, planning/estimating/inspecting; lead meetings and job walks with customers and stakeholders.
- Develop acquisition and execution strategies for multi-trade construction and maintenance projects and advise Directorate leadership on recommended course of action. Comply with business sensitive non-disclosure policies for estimates, proposals, and bids.
- Serve as the Alternate Subcontract Technical Representative and/or Alternate Responsible Individual for various maintenance and repair subcontracts. Provide procurement team with bids from multiple qualified subcontractors, lead safety meetings/pre-start briefs, mitigate safety concerns, oversee subcontractor's work to ensure safety, quality, and job completion.
Qualifications
- Experience effectively planning and leading meetings, including defining and enforcing objectives.
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Experience interpreting complex technical performance requirements and translating requirements into project scope.
- Highly advanced knowledge of the application of safety policies and procedures, regulatory requirements for equipment maintenance; experience in the application of electrical codes and standards; and advanced knowledge of hazards associated with maintenance job tasks and work areas.
- Highly advanced knowledge of the standards, procedures, and techniques related to electrical repair, maintenance, and construction project coordination.
- Experience utilizing personal computers and related software (e.g., Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to manage and track job orders, schedule facility/equipment maintenance activities and generate reports.
- Extensive experience creating electrical construction and maintenance project scopes, cost estimates, executing projects through contract and/or in-house workforce, and performing quality assurance/quality control inspections for building electrical asset installations.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technology, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience with significant experience in construction, electrical inspections, and/or maintenance and operations of facility electrical infrastructure.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with all levels of technical and administrative personnel.
Qualifications We Desire
- Experience managing work involving subcontractors.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations as those regulations apply to construction contracting.

Site 300
Site 300 is an experimental test site operated by LLNL. Situated on 7,000 acres in rural foothills approximately six miles southwest of downtown Tracy and 15 miles southeast of Livermore, Site 300 hosts approximately 200 employees with expertise in such fields as engineering, chemistry, biology, and environmental restoration. Employees assigned to work at Site 300 may be exposed to the organism that causes San Joaquin Valley Fever (coccidioidomycosis).
Security Clearance
This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance. If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
