Job Description

Chatham County Government has an opening for a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Administrator for Chatham County Government. If you meet the minimum qualifications, you are encouraged to apply.
Job Summary: Under the guidance of the Human Resources Director, you will be responsible for developing and managing DEI initiatives and strategies that foster and promote best practices, including designing and implementing organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. You will raise awareness around inclusivity, outreach, and communication as you identify and build relationships, partnering with external organizations and internal employees. You will oversee a strategy to achieve the County's goals for developing and sustaining an equitable culture that reflects our community's diversity. You will work to ensure the County connects with diverse candidates and demonstrates its full potential as an inclusive employer of choice. You will partner with various Human Resources teams to integrate DEI into employment and workplace practices. This will include partnering to increase organizational diversity through hiring, inclusion, workforce development and retention initiatives. You will coach and support County departments to be innovative and adaptive in providing culturally competent programs/services to improve public outreach. You will provide support and serve as a resource for County programs and agencies that deliver outreach services to underserved and vulnerable populations. Your interpersonal and communication skills are vital as you are the Subject Matter Expert for County leadership, employees, and the community related to DEI. Your analytical and critical thinking skills will be used to gather and analyze statistical information to determine patterns and recognize trends. Based on your data analysis and interpretation, you will advise leadership on recommended actions. Your organization and technical skills are essential to preparing reports and presenting findings. You may attend conferences, seminars, workshops, and other training. Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Employee Relations, Public Administration, Business Administration, Cultural Anthropology or a closely related field, and at least six (6) years of experience evaluating or implementing company processes and systems affecting employees, at least two (2) of which are directly related to DEI; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems is highly desirable. Certification or coursework in DEI or Workplace Inclusivity is preferred.
