To meet students where they are, we will host internships in both a virtual and in-person format. Opportunities listed will either be in-person based on the location mentioned or virtual, depending on business needs. Some of our internship opportunities that begin in September will continue through the Academic Year and end in April. Academic Year Internship Program:


  • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:


  • Project Management Intern, Tech Delivery: The internship will provide an individual with extensive knowledge of the metadata landscape, and its integral role in providing content to millions of consumers around the globe. The Project Management Intern, Technology Delivery, will be responsible for driving key initiatives to facilitate proper syndication of content and metadata across a suite of NBCU streaming products. The Project Management Intern will work alongside content and metadata program leads, to help deliver metadata across many different NBCU technical systems. This position requires strong communication skills and a proactive mentality. The Project Management Intern will establish key relationships with their peers and business partners to help deliver features derived from complex data sets.
  • Project Coordinator Intern, Technology Delivery: The Project Coordinator Intern will provide project coordinator and administrative support the Tech Delivery PMO. The Technology Delivery PMO works across and with many groups within NBCU Direct-to-Consumer division to organize, plan, and execute upon new features and enhancements within our portfolio of products. The ideal candidate for this position has exemplary planning and time management skills and can organize and manage calendars, keeping scheduling operations running smoothly and efficiently. They should be a versatile learner, able to adapt to new tools and processes within our organization. As the intern, you’ll get to support managing task-based projects including utilizing and supporting PMO tooling solutions, presentations/agendas/materials, documenting notes, and coordinating follow-up items to completion, managing SharePoint folders and data, working within Jira, Confluence, and other web-based project management tools, creating and editing presentations, spreadsheets, communications, and reports, and participating in meetings, taking notes and disseminating information to relevant stakeholders, including weekly email updates, and various reports.
  • Data Products – AdTech/MarTech: Our role as the Data Products – AdTech/MarTech team is to position Peacock to fully leverage our collected and enriched data to maximize efficiency in media buying and user acquisition/retention. We work closely with our external AdTech partners and internal marketing stakeholders to accomplish our goals of: Driving engagement and upsell by collecting and distributing first party conversion data with ad platforms for media optimization, cleansing and staging 1st party behavioral data to empower audience segmentation, and enriching 1st party data with 3rd party data sets through partnerships and our clean room. As the intern, you’ll get to query, validate and analyze datasets that help drive Product Improvement decisions and support cross-functional teams, such as Media Analytics, Data Science, and Marketing, process documentation and working with non-technical stakeholders (Marketing, Agencies) to define business needs and move project statuses forwards, and communicate with Marketing to understand business needs and problems to deliver a data solution.
  • Direct-To-Consumer Technology Delivery, Trials: This group is looking to give an intern the opportunity to Assist with the intake and fulfillment of test account requests for all D2C products, support the monitoring of Partner Portal in Prism for request fulfillment & follow up, provide administrative support to ensure test account are properly provisioned, assist with app distribution to testers, provide support for onboarding users in the Centercode trials portal, monitor trials inbox and assist in escalation to the proper team or issue resolution, and assist with data collection and summary reporting for trials.
  • Peacock Consumer Insights: The Peacock Consumer Insights Team supplies insights in support of strategic objectives to stakeholders across the organization, including the Content Strategy, Content Development & Marketing teams. As an intern on our team, you will be explosed to a variety of quantitative and qualitative primary research methodologies and gain experience in analyzing the output to provide actionable insights for the business. As the intern, you’ll get to take part in supporting team project managers on qualitative and quantitative research initiatives that support internal objectives, including analyzing respondent verbatims, survey data, creating banners & crosstabs, etc., as well as discovering the story in the data through thoughtful and robust analysis.
  • Commerce Product, Monetization: The Commerce Product team is responsible for conceiving, designing, developing, and launching in-product consumer-facing experiences across acquisition, monetization, payment, and customer service touchpoints. Opening the app and signing up for an account? We built that. Exploring our service on PeacockTV.com? That’s all us. Upgrading your plan to Premium Plus so that you can skip the ads? You guessed it, that’s us too. The Monetization team within Commerce Product owns merchandising Peacock’s paid subscriptions and optimizing in-product revenue. As an intern in Monetization you can gain an inside look at how a streaming service is built and operates, both in the US and internationally. You will get hands-on experience with agile product development, engage in design thinking, participate in roadmap prioritization, and learn about monetization strategy. During the course of this internship you will gain exposure to a diverse range of groups throughout Peacock including design, technology, marketing, partnerships, and customer support. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a range of projects that include driving subscriptions around new Peacock Original series launches, new blockbuster movies, Sunday Night Football, and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
  • Technology Delivery, Peacock: The Peacock Technology Delivery team is responsible for partnering with business, product & developer workstreams to execute the E2E delivery of technology features in support of the Peacock roadmap. An intern in this role will support Project and Program Managers to coordinate across and within workstreams supporting Content Experience and Discovery. They will gain familiarity with the software development life cycle and experience working with product managers, UI/UX designers, editors, quality assurance engineers, decision scientists, and software development teams – all in support of features that improve and enhance the Peacock user experience. Past projects delivered by this team have included support for new application navigation and content discoverability journeys designed to help users find the content they love and continue watching.
  • Technology Delivery, Direct-to-Consumer: The Technology Delivery group within Direct to Consumer is an integral part of creating and delivering a vast roadmap of features across NBCUs global streaming platforms. As Delivery Managers, we drive end to end delivery of technical features across engineering teams, engage with business stakeholders to define roadmaps, and harness cross-functional collaboration. This role will focus on technical delivery of video playback features across NBCUs streaming platforms. This includes enhancing key performance indicators of the platform and, interactive capabilities for users across live events, linear channels, and video on demand. As the intern, you’ll get to assist in managing technology delivery forums for the Playback functional area, such as requirements alignment and solution development, utilize collaboration and organizational skills to prepare forum agendas that will drive each session with concise topics, owners, and actions, focus on capturing important discussions, dependencies, next steps, and owners through feature discussions as they are going through requirements and solution development phases, and utilize tooling and automation where possible to drive collaboration, meetings recaps, and status reporting.


Qualifications


Basic Requirements:


  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be willing to work from New York, NY.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.


Desired Characteristics


  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Passionate about the entertainment industry and OTT streaming industry.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence and AirTable.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Experience with a statistical analysis tool like Marketsight, R, SPSS and/or SAS preferred.
  • General understanding of digital marketing ecosystem and industry challenges.
  • Interest in Market Research and media industry required
  • Working towards a degree required in a relevant field (Business, Market Research, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, etc.).
  • Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence for running reports, uploading documents, and basic site administration.
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems a plus.
  • Interest in Project Management methodologies.
  • Statistics knowledge and experience required; ability to conduct advanced statistical analysis like factor and conjoint analysis is a plus but not required.
  • SQL, and data analysis skills (either R or Python).
  • Currently in education for a technical degree (i.e. Computer Science, Information Technical).
  • Interest in the processes behind the Software Development lifecycle.


The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.00 - $30.00.


The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $20.00 - $35.00.
