The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey offers paid internships to students, providing the opportunity to work with experienced professionals on assignments critical to building, operating, and maintaining transportation and infrastructure assets in New York and New Jersey. Assignments include hands-on projects to cultivate technical, writing, communication, and team-building skills. The diversity of our businesses creates a variety of opportunities for students to gain exposure to the work of a first-class public agency.

We offer internships in departments, like: Audit; Aviation; Communications/Marketing; Health & Safety; Operations; Security; Comptroller; Continuous Improvement; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Engineering; Human Resources; Labor Relations; Management & Budget; PATH; Planning & Regional Development; Port; Procurement; Project Management; Sustainability; Technology; Treasury; Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals; World Trade Center; Major Capital Projects; Financial Planning; Law; and more.

Qualifications:

• Successful candidates will be self-starters with excellent communication, research, and applicable technical skills
• We welcome applications from all types of majors
• We are seeking interns who have a passion for public service and have a genuine interest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey region
• Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, ideally through the Spring 2024 semester

Internship Details:

• Fall/Spring internships are usually part-time during the school year with the possibility of being more full-time when school isn't in session (i.e. summer)
• These details are subject to change
• Most internships are hybrid, but some are fully in-person
• The hourly salary range is $17.20 to $28.85 (the hourly salary is determined by internship type and school year)
