Director US Strategic Business Development, Partnerships & Operations


Our client is a 45 year-old, India-based leader in the comprehensive logistics solutions business. In addition to ocean, air, rail and road, they also handle first and last mile and logistics and cargo solutions.


Their operating philosophy is founded on maintaining the highest level of quality service in the most efficient and advanced manner possible with an emphasis on customized solutions.


In addition to their focus on enhancing supply chains and providing digital solutions, their higher purpose is to create and share prosperity with their people, shareholders, and stakeholders.


Although they are an industry leader in Asia and the Middle East, and have had a strong presence in the US for the past 24 years, they are eager to expand their US market share. They are seeking a Director, Americas to achieve this goal.


Our client is looking for someone who can develop and execute a strategy for doubling US net income over the next 12-18 months.


In this role you will


  • Leverage your existing network to reach out to senior level management and sell our logistics solutions
  • Manage the Iselin, New Jersey-based US operations office and act as the primary point of contact with headquarters in India
  • Have complete responsibility for national expansion as the company aggressively expands its US market share
  • Create deal processes for scale as well as for customized, one-off agreements
  • Lead complex deal development and negotiations by managing the overall BD deal process including evaluation, structure, negotiation, and execution of deals
  • Conceive of new and improved ways of operating and new client offerings that drive revenue; implement approved ideas


About You


  • You are authorized to work in the United States; our client is not currently sponsoring employment visas
  • You love understanding broader opportunities and constraints and applying both tactical experience and strategic vision to drive growth for the company as a whole
  • You successfully develop and close, high-impact strategic partnerships that unlock inorganic new business opportunities
  • You enjoy being a road warrior as this position requires 50-60% travel
  • You are a veteran of the Logistics Solutions industry and have extensive experience in supply chain management, 3rd party warehouse management, Consulting or Business Development
  • You approach sales by looking through the lens of solving the customer’s problem rather than only offering them solutions from our current offerings
  • You are an exceptional closer with a deep understanding of market, product, and business development strategy
  • You are ambitious and have an entrepreneurial approach to driving a coordinated strategy to grow the business
  • You have at least 10 years of relevant work experience which can include any related post-graduate work (e.g., MBA, MS)
  • You have excellent written and oral presentation skills as well as the ability and interest to inspire and engage with executives and target customers
  • You are imaginative, results oriented, and have a knack for digital tools
  • You easily move between collaborative and independent work
