Team:
Chiefs for Change – Technical Assistance Program Management Team
Location: Remote (United States)
Reports to: Chief Executive, Technical Assistance Program Management

Overview:

Chiefs for Change, a district and state education leader network, is seeking a Director of Technical Assistance Program Management to significantly influence and shape the strategic priorities and direction of school systems on critical topics such as learning acceleration, student well-being, strategic plan implementation, and whole system redesign. In this role, you will build capabilities within systems to deliver on their strategic priorities and apply learnings and tools to a broader set of challenges. You will establish lasting relationships with senior district leaders to support sustained impact and provide post-engagement check-ins. This is an opportunity to contribute to the transformation of education systems and make a lasting difference.

Responsibilities:

Relationship Building and Thought Partnership:

  • Develop an understanding of system and initiative leader priorities and motivations.
  • Build trust-based relationships with senior executives and initiative leads to support engagement fulfillment and follow-ups.

Project Management and Execution:

  • Create agendas and lead working sessions/workshops with workstream counterparts.
  • Perform quality control across all deliverables to maintain high standards.
  • Effectively manage engagements with system leaders in collaboration with consultants/partners, ensuring high-quality and impactful deliverables within agreed timelines.
  • Escalate issues when necessary and seek advice from chiefs in residence and senior colleagues.

Content Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Leverage existing tools and artifacts, adapting them thoughtfully to a system's context, challenges, and culture.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new tools and resources in collaboration with external partners.
  • Deliver content in an inspiring manner that builds buy-in and trust among system personnel.

Creating Opportunities for Impact:

  • Foster system "ownership" of co-created strategies and tools to support sustained, long-term change.
  • Maintain clarity on the aspiration for impact and drive system workshops and interactions accordingly.
  • Explore innovative approaches to scale initiatives that positively impact students.
  • Document milestones and develop impact stories to share within the CFC network and support program reporting to funders.

Qualifications:

  • Goal-driven, organized, and efficient.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% on average, with seasonal variability.
  • Proven experience in program management, planning, organizing, and implementing programs with positive results.
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work streams effectively.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a K-12 setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, plan, innovate, and execute resourcefully.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; proficiency with Zoom, Asana, Google Drive, and Salesforce preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Travel Requirement: This position involves approximately 30% travel on average, with seasonal variability.

As we are a small team, we are not able to respond to each inquiry. We will reach out directly to those candidates selected to move forward in the interview process. We believe diversity is a source of strength and welcome applicants of all religions, genders, sexual orientations, and ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
