Job Description

SUMMARY:

POINT3 (as in :00.3 seconds) is the shortest amount of time that matters in basketball - the moment that can determine victory or defeat. Our story originated on the basketball court when we made shorts with built-in towels to keep our hands dry. That textile technology (DRYV®) was awarded a patent and led to POINT3 becoming a fixture on the grassroots basketball scene as the country’s largest direct-to-coach uniform outfitter and more recently, an official partner of the NBA.


We’ve launched category extensions into a host of sports and activities where sweaty hands affect performance, and are looking for the right candidate to accelerate growth of our team sales channels. Reporting to the Founder & CEO, the Director of Team Sales will be responsible for driving revenue, primarily through the management and oversight of our team uniform sales program. They will also have direct sales and account management responsibilities of enterprise level clients such as NBA team customers and retail partners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and grow the POINT3 team uniform sales program in new growth categories such as esports and volleyball, including recruitment of sales reps, business development and account management.
  • Work with Marketing team to help plan, develop, and execute marketing programs in support of team uniform sales goals, including Spring/Summer grassroots pop-up sales and marketing activation.
  • Recruit, train and supervise new POINT3 sales reps focused on both inside and outside sales.
  • Management of all POINT3 inside and outside sales representatives, ensuring they meet and exceed established individual and departmental goals.
  • Oversight of our team uniform sales program, selling POINT3 branded team uniforms to basketball organizations (e.g. AAU/travel clubs, schools, rec leagues, etc.) and servicing our roster of 2,000+ teams who purchase POINT3 each year.
  • Business development and key account management for enterprise level clients such as NBA teams, grassroots event operators and targeted wholesale/ distributor accounts.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highly organized, detail oriented and comfortable with budget management principles.
  • Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basketball and an ability to connect with coaches and school/youth programs.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a sales focused role, with management oversight and responsibilities strongly preferred.
  • Experience with team uniform, sporting goods and/or apparel sales preferred.
  • Willing to travel on occasion (1-2x per month especially during March-July) as part of your job responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated and not afraid to grind - you are responsible for managing your own time and your team’s priorities in a high growth, fast paced environment.
  • Must have a working knowledge of basic computer operations – email, Excel, social media, etc.Comfort level working with software applications (e.g. CRM) preferred.
