Here's What The Job Would Look Like
As the People and Culture Director (PCD) you will coordinate, administer and report on various people and culture programs, system and procedures to aid in the attraction, retention and motivation of associates in accordance with policies, procedures and government laws and regulations while promoting a safe, fair, positive work environment. You will be responsible for all recruiting, hiring and daily administration of various salary, benefit, government and associate relations programs. You will also recommend and implement procedural/process changes.
Here Are Your Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct management and associate orientation to introduce the associate to the hotel/company and ensure the appropriate information is disseminated & the appropriate forms are completed & processed: to include but not limited to, new hire forms, the completion of immigration forms, tax forms, benefit enroll forms & an overview to the Handbook and associate policies.
  • Bring all sensitive associate-related information to the attention of the General Manager in all instances to limit liability.
  • Supervise the administration of team member benefit programs act as the intermediary with the insurance and 401 K plan administrators, reconcile all monthly billing to in house roster, and coordinate and control all benefit audits including group health insurance, COBRA, vacation, sick, PTO (Paid Time Off), leave of absences, jury duty pay and retirement plan.
  • Position the hotel as the "preferred employer" in the area by maintaining strong community relations with referral agencies to maintain strong applicant flow. Work with local agencies to obtain best qualified candidates at competitive wages.
  • Maintain associate records, files and the People and Culture office systems. Compile various corporate and property reports to provide management with accurate information and comply with corporate policies and procedures as well as government laws and regulations.
  • Process People & Culture (Human Resources-HR) forms and respond to written and oral inquiries regarding verification of employment, wages, unemployment compensation & worker's compensation claims, in a manner which is consistent and ensure that liability is minimized.
  • To manage, direct and monitor the associate assets of the company, perpetuating an environment that is profitable, while meeting all health, safety and sanitation needs.
  • Manage and implement the various team member relations and in-house training programs to ensure consistent administration & reduce turnover, provide open communications and promote a positive and pro-associate work environment. Advocate the Guarantee of Fair Treatment Policy.
  • Oversee HRIS Profile administration. Review Payroll Action Reports & input/update HRIS of new hires, make daily changes to ensure accurate, up to date information is available for payroll and management.
  • Notify all managers monthly of reviews due & track completed reviews to ensure they are given in a timely manner.
  • Over-see all recruiting, screening, interviewing, performing reference checks and coordinating department interviews for management and hourly candidates to ensure quality hires and compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Manage the employment process from recruitment to hiring, including Visa application and related advertising and documentation.

Here Are Additional Duties
  • Keep associate bulletin boards current, including, but not limited to: post memos, pictures of associate events, loss prevention materials.
  • Conduct exit interviews, track trends and complete turnover report in an accurate, timely manner
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Maintain checkbook accounting for H.R. related expense in associate-relations, staff training, and recruitment advertising. Ensure purchase orders are completed for all purchases.
  • Act as a facilitator in the Quality Assurance Committee.
  • Assist in the competitive wage & benefit survey annually.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Actively lead Safety Committee of the property.
Our Expectations From You Are The Following
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all hotel safety and security procedures as required maintaining a secure and safe environment for associates as well as guests.
  • Abide by payroll policies, procedures (punch in/punch out), Meals and Rest Periods policy and OLS Rules of Conduct.
  • Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to the General Manager.

These Are What The Job Requires
Education: Four-year college degree or equivalent /education experience.
Experience: Experience is required with this company or other organization(s) for one to two years in hotel, human resources or related position.
Skills And Abilities
  • May require supervision/management skills.
  • Should possess the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • May require knowledge of policies and procedures and the ability to determine course of action based on these guidelines.
  • Must be hospitality oriented and possess the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must have basic PC knowledge, minimum typing speed of 40 wpm, ability to write and communicate professionally, bi-lingual fluency a plus.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of a technical field or the practices and procedures of a professional field in order to perform non-repetitive analytical work.
No. of associates supervised : 2-4
Travel required : Ability to drive and/or commute to and from other properties.
Hours Required: Forty-Fifty per week; schedule may vary according to business needs
