JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Operations directs manufacturing, inventory management, budgets, customer satisfaction, quality, and a safe work environment. This is a hands-on position with high visibility and a strong presence throughout the operation, including manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and logistics. This position is responsible for providing leadership and directions in support of corporate goals, driving initiatives, and has P&L responsibility of the company.
EDUCATION:
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 8+ years of progressively increasing operations leadership responsibility, including at least 5 years of experience in a Senior Management role in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred: 10+ Years Senior Management experience in a manufacturing environment and 5+ years in chemical manufacturing facility, with a history of aggressive sales growth in new markets.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to partner in a cross-functional, collaborative working environment with influencing skills as a leader involving diverse stakeholder groups. Working understanding of Microsoft Office i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. Ideal candidate must also have an understanding of ERP systems. Customer Relationship Management. Detailed-oriented with ability to oversee projects from origin through execution. Willingness to learn and should be able to flourish in a high growth, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. Ability to create and manage highly functioning teams.

- Maintain and improve upon safety rules, practices, and procedures to assure the safety of associates, building, ground, and machinery.
- Reviewing, analyzing and preparing reports, records and directives, and confers with managers/supervisors to obtain data required for manufacturing planning activities, such as new products, status of work in progress and problems encountered.
- Working with your team to establish manufacturing standards for cost control and waste reduction, oversee the design, development, communication and implement manufacturing best practices.
- Completes special projects upon requests, and other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and lead staff by active coaching and training while cultivating a collaborative team culture, creative problem solving and results driven operations.
- Customer Satisfaction is a key element of the job, partnering with internal and external customers and vendors.
- Participate in strategic planning and business plan development.
- Oversee and maintain procedures for ensuring managers and supervisors have appropriate practices and controls in place to ensure a safe and secure workplace for employees in conjunction with the safety and human resources departments.
- Managing organization operations by directing and coordinating manufacturing activities consistent with established goals, objectives and policies.
- Provide direct supervision, training, and development to employees.
- Directing and oversees material control for the material cycle, purchasing, warehousing, inventory control and shipping to ensure quality, efficiency and cost control.
- Ensuring that as the company grows; manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness. Implementing improved manufacturing processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization.
- Drive quality of delivered products and services.
- Plan and direct activities to promote chemical sales of sister companies, coordinating with other department heads as required.
- Generate opportunities for non-intercompany revenue streams for manufacturing and distribution.
- Coordinate manufacturing, purchasing, distribution, and logistical operations over multiple facilities, partnering with other Directors and management.
- Responsible for recruiting, retaining and developing top talent.
- Interact regularly and communicate proactively both internally and externally, to resolve process and operations issues promptly, optimize results, and create successful collaborative environment.
- Formulates manufacturing policies, procedures and programs.
- Develop capital spending budgets for operations facilities and equipment, and ensure projects are completed in accordance with the budget.
- Ensuring that environmental programs are in place and managed effectively through practices and controls.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the manufacturing operations group, sales group, and distribution group.
