Role: Director of Legal Operations, Contracts

Location: Remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Legal Operations, this role will lead a global team of contract specialists, CLMS implementation specialists and senior program managers. This role will oversee Juniper Networks’ forward looking ‘Contracts Transformation’ programs to automate, simplify and streamline our contracting processes; as well as oversee our ‘Run the Business’ contracting operations including the administration, processing, storage and reporting associated with all corporate agreements. The role requires strategic cross-organizational collaboration and alignment and forming productive relationships at all levels within the company. The ideal person for this role will also be very ‘hands-on’ and equally adept at program execution and strategy development for the function.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with Legal Ops Technology, corporate IT and vendor technical teams on technical solution design and delivery.
  • Responsible for overall delivery of program roadmap.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies/ capabilities and incorporate into roadmap as relevant.
  • Lead, develop and manage the execution of program roadmap to drive operational efficiencies and innovation in Juniper’s corporate contracting environment, leveraging CLMS and other related technologies, innovative staffing strategies and process improvements.
  • Develop and lead execution of complex program plans to support the roadmap (collate information, identify dependencies, develop project plans, manage risks and drive closure to deliver results)
  • Maintain laser focus on user experience to develop and deliver organizational change & enablement programs for various initiatives.
  • Align with relevant stakeholders at all levels in the company on business needs/opportunities to develop a longer term vision and an actionable roadmap for the program.
  • Keep ‘Simplicity’ and ‘Efficiency’ as program north stars to re-engineer complex processes, and develop elegant solution designs.
  • Leverage your experience and industry relationships to develop a smooth functioning Legal Contracts Administration (LCA) “Center of Excellence” to streamline global contract operations.
  • Manage and collaborate with a talented, globally dispersed team on overall program execution.
  • Manage relationships with program vendors.

Qualifications/ Skills

  • Superior interpersonal skills to bring consumers, partners, and internal teams along on the journey to create program vision and implementation roadmaps.
  • Strong bias for action to get stuff done.
  • Advanced degree (JD, MBA) is a plus
  • Proven success in building and optimizing corporate contracting operations.
  • Strong experience implementing CLMS, and other contracting technologies (e.g. self-service tools, workflow automation, document builders etc) in global, matrixed environments.
  • A collaborative and empathetic team leader
  • Advanced user of program management tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheets etc is preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in contract management /contract operations/ sales operations / legal operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including capability to develop and execute thought leadership assets, as well as explain complex legal/ automation concepts to a wide variety of audience.
  • Strategic thought leader with sound business acumen and judgement.
  • Hands on program management experience driving complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Last but certainly not the least, possess a sense of humor and have fun along the way.

Minimum Salary: $172,500.00

Maximum Salary:$264,500.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $172,500.00 and $264,500.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
