A critical member of the People Team, the Director of Learning and Development is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of high impact learning and development programs for the company. The Director of L&D will drive programs to help build best practices, create a talent pipeline through internship/externship programs and succession planning initiatives. In addition you will be responsible for establishing employee engagement programs and strategies that shape the employee experience, build high performing teams and drive our unique mission-oriented culture forward. This position requires the ability to juggle multiple projects and programs that impact all leaders and employees at Progyny. It is instrumental to the success of the organization.
What you'll do...
Learning:
  • Apply principles of adult learning, learning styles, and various instructional design approaches and processes to learning solutions using multi-platform content to support targeted learning and behavioral (e.g., micro-learning, peer learning, action learning, blended solutions, learning portal management, toolkits, and marketing campaigns).
  • Partner with Internal Communications team to implement communication strategies that raise awareness and promote learning and development opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of all training programs and implement changes as necessary to elevate the level and success of all training initiatives.
  • Conduct organizational needs assessments to identify opportunities and drive desired changes and outcomes.
  • Develop, scale, maintain, and deliver a best in class learning portfolio that is aligned to the company’s competencies and business priorities ensuring that all aspects of development and delivery are high-impact and meet the needs of a diverse range of users.
  • Drive learning culture through innovative solutions
  • Evolve and scale learning framework and develop skills and capabilities to address gaps and align with business growth strategy including management and leadership development for multiple employee audiences.
Talent Management and Development:
  • Owns organization-wide talent development lifecycle and processes (e.g., onboarding, goal setting, feedback and performance management, succession planning, talent reviews, promotion, and career pathing) to ensure fair and inclusive outcomes and build internal capabilities.
  • Partner with the People team and departmental management teams to assess and develop learning approaches to meet specific division or functional needs including leadership coaching and external offerings.
  • Partner with the People Leadership Team and Executive Leadership Team to drive the executive talent development and succession planning efforts for the business.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to support staffing strategies in support of our diversity and inclusion strategy.
Employee Engagement Strategy:
  • Sets and activates an aligned, company-wide listening strategy that helps inform key decisions and guide the people strategy.
  • Establishes companywide KPIs for the employee experience and develops a reporting cadence and delivery to Executive Leadership.

About you...
  • 10+ years of experience designing and leading L&D programs at scale, preferably in high-growth environments.
  • Proven experience with curriculum development and delivery methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to work in and manage ambiguity, including dealing effectively with issues that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place.
  • Track record of innovation and program-building within a high growth, evolving environment.
  • Data driven - Possesses the ability to draw insights using data and to make meaningful business recommendations.
  • In-depth understanding of best practices in learning strategy development and execution and in employee engagement.
  • Ability to prioritize initiatives based on the evolving needs of the company, making consistently strategic recommendations to company leadership.
  • Experience in guiding leadership and project team members through a Change Management approach for implementation of new programs.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong consultative skills and ability to make persuasive recommendations based on business rationale.

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $125,000 - $150,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
