Dick Clark Productions (DCP), the world's largest producer and proprietor of televised live event entertainment programming, is hiring a Director of Insights and Analytics to develop, analyze, and provide insights on audience, ratings, and other metric research, to all DCP departments and third-party partners. The Director will utilize the research to propose strategies with respect to creation, production, and distribution of programming and content. This is a new role within Dick Clark Productions and will be tasked with shaping/creating the function while being able to be hands-on with the data (i.e. pull, analyze, communicate and deliver insights). This position will report to the SVP of Marketing.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Responsible for data collecting through the resources available to build out reporting and analysis needed for the business
● Build out the process for qualitative research along with managing the reporting and communication of the research to the organization
● Utilize program & audience ratings data (Nielsen, streaming platforms, social tools) to showcase brand strength and help deliver insights to optimize the creation, production, and distribution of programming
● Become a key data subject matter expert across all aspects of the business within Dick Clark Productions.
● Stay current with and assess industry and social media trends, tools, platforms, innovations, and best practices
● Provide and lead assessments of social media and other internet-based engagements through quantitative analyses that provide insight into campaign or initiative effectiveness
● Leverage ratings, analytics, research and viewership data to create impactful analyses.
● Utilize data to effectively analyze all aspects of linear and non-linear television and digital viewing, including hours, sessions and unique viewers
● Analyze data to create insightful presentations and well-crafted recommendations to help inform strategic decision-making for all DCP departments, as well as external clients
● Provide insights on overall media trends and impact on our programming and genres
● Respond to ad hoc and short turn around requests for data and metrics from across the organization and proactively disseminate insights
● Utilize syndicated research tools to develop viewer profiles so key stakeholders have a deeper understanding of viewers of our programs and genres
Ideal qualifications:
● Minimum of 7 years’ experience in media research; cable and/or broadcast network research and/or digital measurement is a plus
● Proficiency with Nielsen data systems, including NPower is required and proficiency with social listening/analytical platforms (e.g. Talkwalker, ListenFirst, Netbase)
● High level proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required
● Demonstrated ability to work under pressure without sacrificing accuracy
● Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work on a variety of different projects in a fast-paced environment
● Leadership skills and experience working dynamically across multiple levels of an organization
● Comfortable with presenting analysis and explaining methodology
Typical wage range: $115k - $140k + bonus. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
