Exciting opportunity to join Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) in enchanting Norfolk, Virginia as Director of Human Resource Operations.

The Position

• This leader will strive to implement practices and objectives that will provide an employee-centric, high-performance culture which emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, standards, goal attainment, and the retention and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
• Ideal candidate brings a minimum of five (5) years of HR leadership experience in a large, complex healthcare organization; thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable local/state/federal laws, five (5) years of HRIS leadership experience including successfully selecting, implementing and using HRIS and database management.
• The Director of Human Resources Operations, in collaboration with the CPO, will implement, and evaluate the specific functions, programs, and services of Human Resource Operations; including employee relations, business partners, employee recognition programs, development of organizational retention program, HR policies, procedures, and HRIS.
• Works closely with the Human Resources leadership team to evaluate the effectiveness of all related policies and programs, assists with policy development and ensures compliance with laws and regulations which control, or impact compensation, benefits plans and policies.
• Seeking a collaborative professional to assist HR Functional Leaders, leadership development, performance management, talent acquisition, organization alignment, culture, and colleague engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Onsite required.

The Organization

• The hospital is planning to break ground on a new, 60-bed mental health facility in the fall (2023 opening), with a focus on behavioral health and psychiatric services.
• CHKD is a 206-bed teaching hospital with special units for neonatal and pediatric intensive care, cancer care, acute inpatient rehabilitation, medical and surgical care, and transitional care.
• As a freestanding, full-service children's hospital, every inch of the facility and all its members are devoted exclusively to the needs of young people, and patients benefit from the full range of pediatric specialists and support services available only at freestanding children's hospitals.
• Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) – part of The King’s Daughter’s Health System – is the preferred provider of quality children’s health services in the region, providing hospitalization, ongoing care for chronic illness, outpatient surgery, and primary care.
