Who You Are:

Are you passionate about driving positive change and creating an inclusive workplace? Are you a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of diversity and inclusion practices? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Diversity and Inclusion to join our team. As our very first Director in this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and lead our company's diversity and inclusion initiatives from the ground up.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate diversity and inclusion initiatives into our overall business strategy.
  • Lead the design and delivery of training programs to promote awareness, understanding, and cultural competence among employees.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy that aligns with our corporate values and goals.
  • Partner with HR to develop and implement inclusive recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain diverse talent.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on diversity and inclusion progress, achievements, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Conduct assessments and audits to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in our current diversity and inclusion practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and stay current on best practices, emerging trends, and legal requirements related to diversity and inclusion.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment by providing guidance and support to employees and managers on diversity and inclusion-related matters.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external organizations, community groups, and industry networks to enhance our company's diversity and inclusion efforts.


Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, diversity studies, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in designing and delivering diversity and inclusion training programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and leverage insights to drive decision-making.
  • Professional certifications in diversity and inclusion (e.g., SHRM-CP, CDP) are a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of diversity and inclusion best practices, trends, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • 8-10 Years in HR – with 4+ in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies in a corporate setting.
  • Strong understanding of the retail industry and its unique diversity and inclusion challenges.


Compensation:

$180-190k
