The Role


Historically, 21CB’s business has grown solely through referrals and in-bound client outreach. Now, as 21CB continues to scale its business, we have identified the need to create a new role that will drive growth by generating greater and more focused momentum across our business development funnel, outbound marketing efforts, and key client relationships.


We’re eager for a candidate who thrives and finds joy in building relationships—internally and externally.


This is a hybrid role that calls for the creativity of a marketer combined with the discipline of an operator. The ideal candidate has an established record of building trusted relationships with senior clients and prospective clients. Because this role crosses over all aspects of 21CB’s business, it is a high-visibility position with frequent and direct access to company leadership and high-profile clients.


Responsibilities

  • Work with company leadership to constantly replenish top-of-funnel BD opportunities
  • Work with 21CB’s PR agency to develop an annual strategy to raise profile for the company and key leaders in the U.S.
  • Coordinate 21CB’s presence at key industry events and conferences, as well as develop marketing content and follow up with prospective clients
  • Strategically identify organic growth opportunities with pillar clients by understanding their organizational dynamics and uncovering their greatest opportunities and challenges
  • Step in to help extend/revise/negotiate scopes with pillar clients where appropriate
  • For a select group of pillar 21CB clients, partner with the strategy lead to proactively build the client relationship and increase commercial success through delivery of experience, outcomes and increased revenue.
  • Build a stronger outbound marketing muscle at 21CB to cultivate potential future clients and raise the company’s profile in the U.S.
  • Drive BD processes from start to finish (including initial client meets, proposal development, RFP responses, client management, and pitches), pulling in strategy and PM resources at the right points in the process
  • Oversee and coordinate U.S. launches of global 21CB marketing initiatives and thought leadership (for example, A Colourful View from The Top)


Requirements


  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and prioritize appropriately by focusing on work that will deliver the highest impact to the client
  • Strategic approach to solving problems and identifying creative solutions
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced environment
  • Natural relationship builder, able to quickly build trust and respect with senior clients and the broader 21CB team, leading with diplomacy and empathy
  • High level of emotional intelligence and active listening skills
  • At least 8+ years experience as an Account Director / Client Lead/ Marketing Lead in a top-tier agency or consultancy, or Marketer in consumer brand or tech company, scoping and delivering projects and growing accounts in a relevant context
  • Self starter and sharp business acumen
  • Confident at making commercial decisions that are right for 21CB and the client
