Job Summary

We are excited to announce we are hiring for the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Compass Group USA. This position will partner closely with business and HR leaders to drive progress, develop, implement, and manage DE&I strategies, business plans, initiatives, programs, and long-range goals. Compass Group USA is committed to continue on its journey and navigate through this critical time to ensure we are creating and fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment. This position reports directly to the VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion of North America.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership management to Employee Resource Group (ERG) programs and champion expansion of existing or new ERGs to broaden the reach and efficiency of such groups.
  • Identify, influence, and leverage organizational resources across our businesses, regions and functions to inform and support the Compass North America DEI strategy.
  • Champion standard processes, stay abreast of DEI trends, and be a brand ambassador for Compass Group to support attracting talent and third-party vendors.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition, Talent & Development, Communications, Supplier Diversity, and Sustainability teams to integrate the DEI initiatives into the overall talent, learning, and supplier strategies.
  • Partner, influence and engage with sector and HR leaders to build and embed diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies within their lines of business(via the Annual Sector Talent Plans).
  • Play an active role in the community, identifying and building rapport and partnerships that enable Compass to be effective throughout the communities we serve.
  • Support DEI objectives with reporting and conduct analysis to understand DEI insights, identify key areas of opportunity and recommend actions in support of Sectors and Compass Group overall.
  • Help create and lead comprehensive measurements/metrics and communication plan that highlights the advancement of workforce DEI efforts.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and communication of DEI strategy aligned with things we value and inclusive culture while proactively demonstrating our strengths and addressing opportunities.
  • Proactively identify, communicate and address project/program impact, risks and opportunities as well as resolve alternative ways to empower leaders to achieve project/program goals.
  • Build upon existing strategies, technology, and tools to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization.
  • Function as SME for partners like Talent & Development specifically for the development of outstanding DEI training and courseware. SME to ensure DEI principles and standard methodologies are embedded in all leadership development programming.
  • Partner with HR and Talent leaders to embed effective DEI practices into every phase of the talent life cycle, from talent acquisition through succession management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong project/program management experience.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience in HR and/or Diversity and Inclusion partnership/leadership.
  • Must be able to listen and influence with compassion and encourage others to be the difference.
  • BA or BS in business-related or human resource studies with post graduate qualifications in the same subject areas being advantageous.
  • Must possess a strong passion to provide a safe, diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for all Compass Associates.
  • Solid knowledge of diversity best practices, concepts, and programs.
  • Positive relationship building skills as well as a collaborative spirit - must be able to partner with peers and colleagues throughout HR as well as the business.
  • Should have a multi-cultural sensitivity in all areas of diversity and inclusion nationally.
  • Strong communication, executive presentation skills and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in promoting an employer brand using both digital and traditional media.
  • Experience with diversity, cultural proficiencies, laws, and regulations pertaining to equal employment opportunity and supplier diversity.
  • Ability to travel as required (projected about 20 - 25%).
