Luxury Furniture Retailer seeking Director of Distribution

A luxury furniture retailer is seeking a Director of Distribution to join their New York team. The team is seeking a reliable, detail oriented, and experienced candidate to manage e-commerce shipments and oversee shipping & logistics operations. This person will be responsible for developing effective processes & direct logistics function for incoming orders for retail company. This person will coordinate with internal teams and outside vendors to ensure rapid & accurate delivery/distribution of all orders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Works closely with White Glove & Art Handler Domestic Logistic Manager on non-inventoried transfers out of the warehouse.
• Assist with customer inquiries
• Conduct regular quality control inspections of products
• Source and procure packaging supplies
• Maintains upkeep of warehouse and partners with Building Management and company stakeholders to ensure safety guidelines and comfortable work environment.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to create and implement comprehensive distribution processes.
• Manage photoshoot preparations, ensuring the provision of space and proper storage equipment for staging and prepping.
• Provide expert support and problem solving skills
• Ownership of budget/forecasts for distribution, warehousing and packaging costs.
• Expertly manage inventory control processes, receiving, transfers, cycle counts and shipments and liaise with the Finance department to execute all necessary inventory adjustments.
• Identify, develop, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the efficiency.
• Oversee the receipt of purchase orders from suppliers, confirm that all items are delivered as expected, and promptly address any discrepancies or issues.

Skills and Experience:

• Past experience supervising and managing people.
• Maintaining relationships with vendors
• Working knowledge of Lightspeed POS and Shopify POS software preferred
• Excellent organization and data entry skills
• Suitable candidates will have a minimum of 5-6 years of warehouse management experience.
• Excellent communication skills

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
