Within the Scooter’s Coffee brand sits Harvest Roasting, which includes our warehouse, bakery, and roastery. Description
We are seeking a creative and analytical Director, Menu Strategy to lead our menu development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer preferences, market trends, and culinary innovation. The Director of Menu Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping our menu offerings to drive customer satisfaction, sales growth, and brand differentiation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Menu Development: Lead the ideation, creation, and implementation of innovative and customer-centric menu offerings. Collaborate with culinary teams, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders to bring new concepts to life while considering factors such as taste, presentation, and dietary preferences.
· Market Research: Stay current with industry trends, competitor menus, and emerging culinary preferences. Conduct thorough market analysis to identify gaps and opportunities for menu innovation that align with our brand identity.
· Consumer Insights: Utilize consumer research and data to understand customer preferences and behaviors. Translate insights into actionable menu strategies that resonate with target audiences and drive customer engagement.
· Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive menu strategy that aligns with the company's business goals. Drive revenue growth, profitability, and customer loyalty through strategic menu optimization
· Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including culinary, marketing, supply chain, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of menu strategies. Collaborate on product launches, promotions, and campaigns to maximize their impact.
· Menu Analysis: Regularly assess the performance of menu items, analyzing sales data, customer feedback, and operational efficiency. Use insights to refine the menu, discontinue underperforming items, and introduce new offerings.
· Supplier Partnerships: Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients that meet menu requirements.
· Menu Communication: Develop compelling menu descriptions, highlighting the unique attributes of each dish and effectively communicating value propositions to customers.
· Menu Training: Collaborate with training teams to develop materials and train staff on menu offerings, ingredients, and preparation methods to enhance customer service and engagement.
· Budget Management: Develop and manage the menu strategy budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial objectives.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Business, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus
· Proven experience 5+ years in menu strategy, culinary innovation, or related roles
· Strong understanding of culinary trends, flavor profiles, and menu design principles
· Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze consumer insights and sales data to inform menu decisions
· Creative thinking and a passion for exploring new culinary concepts and innovations
· Excellent project management skills, capable of leading complex menu development projects from ideation to execution
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
· Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward successful menu strategies
· Proficiency in using menu management software and tools
· Experience in the restaurant, food service, or hospitality industry
· Currently lives in Omaha, NE or immediately relocatable to Omaha
