The Role


The Director of Learning Content Strategy determines the strategy and standards for the creation and delivery of Hyatt’s training content. This includes determining and addressing needs related to global learning roles and design processes and creating expectations for program measurement and content architecture within Hyatt’s Learning Management System (LMS).


  • Develops and leads global communities of practice to understand global needs and champion learning strategies, including Hyatt’s Learning Leader Council and others for instructional designers and program owners.
  • Travel (up to 15%) to test content and training approaches, and to gain insights from property teams.
  • Identifies external learning and development organizations to address Hyatt's learning needs. Manages vendor relationships and expectations.
  • Solicits, vets, and curates proven tools and templates from learning leaders to enable Hyatt’s learning standards and design expectations, promoting usage as appropriate.
  • Consult with global business leaders to prioritize and gain alignment for learning approaches. Solicit input, feedback, and approval from a variety of stakeholders.
  • Supports HR Information Systems as appropriate related to LMS configuration processes, such as for escalated issues or request prioritization challenges.
  • Defines content standards for LMS including overall visuals, branding, and navigation, partnering with HR Information Systems team to optimize the LMS learner experience.
  • Maintains and evolves standards for instructional design, learning program measurement, training content design agencies, and licensed content providers. Ensures programs include diverse representation and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Determines strategy for training content architecture and delivery standards through Hyatt’s Learning Management System (LMS) and other learning technologies. Applies a learner-centered approach to monitor and validate strategy.
  • Develops and leads measurement strategy to determine the effectiveness of global training programs and delivery approaches.
  • Addresses needs of global roles related to learning program design and management. Creates expectations and certification paths as needed and determines standards for learning systems and reporting access.


Qualifications


Experience Required:


  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and lead strategies with leaders at various levels
  • Previous experience in the selection and management of vendors
  • 5+ years of experience leading instructional design/development and/or learning technology teams
  • Proven experience with creating and leading global learning strategies related to training content design and delivery
  • Experienced in Learning Management Systems architecture and training content configuration
  • 2+ years of experience managing others


Experience Preferred:


  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Suite tools
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning principles such as related to learning styles, participatory methods, instructional design, and related topics
  • Instructional Design or L&D certification (i.e., ATD Master Instructional Designer, CPTD)
  • Other relevant certifications may include consulting, advanced design, instructional technology, project management, or talent management (i.e., CMC, SHRM-CP)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Design, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • Hospitality experience a plus but not required
