As a Vice President, Commercial Formulary Strategy & Management , you will provide strategic and operational support for OptumRx Commercial formularies. In this capacity, you will partner with trade, clinical, analytics and formulary operations partners to oversee the development, evaluation and execution of formulary strategies for OptumRx’s standard commercial formularies. This role requires knowledge of the PBM business and operations, strong cross functional collaboration and the ability to drive, articulate and effectively communicate cross-functional strategies to a variety of audiences.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the formulary change process including coordination of formulary recommendations to internal stakeholders and ensure appropriate communication to clients
- Evaluate formulary trend insights to identify formulary strategies aimed to decrease drug spend
- Oversight and coordination of processes related to the commercial formulary governing body
- Lead cross-functional pipeline review and strategy coordination to proactively anticipate and respond to market changes, including new brand and generic launches
- Lead cross-functional review of formulary product portfolio, to maintain differentiated – and market competitive - product offerings to meet different client needs
- Lead formulary strategy development for OptumRx Commercial formularies including continued collaboration with clinical, operations, and rebate contracting teams
- Facilitate use of robust modeling and analytics to support formulary strategy development and decisions

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience within Pharma, pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industry or healthcare payor industries
- Experience in effective communication across stakeholder at all levels organizationally
- Experience working cross functionally with teams including but not limited to Industry and Network, Clinical, Analytics, Product, and Finance functions
- Experience in formulary strategy, management or execution
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated solid business acumen and strategic thinking with the ability to distill strategic concepts into actionable tactics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven operational and financial discipline and rigor
- Proven self-starter, possessing willingness and ambition to work through ambiguity
- Proven track record on consistently achieving desired results
- Undergraduate degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Proven ability to operate with flexibility in changing business and government regulated environment
- Proven organized and can simultaneously execute through multiple projects and priorities
- MBA
- Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple complex projects that spans multiple business units
- Demonstrated drive to push things across the finish line and engage cross functionally to achieve
- Proven creative thinker and problem solver
- Proven team development focus and leading high performing teams

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
