JOB SUMMARY
The Director of medical governance and communications will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer & Head of Patient Safety. This pivotal role requires an ability to develop and build strong, trusting internal partnerships across the organization and drive progress on key initiatives and deliver on cross-functional projects. This role requires strong communication and project management skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Run leadership and staff meetings; maintains agenda; ensures key decisions are made and collate strategic topics; partners with presenters; prepare and issue meeting summaries and follow-ups with owners/due dates.
  • Coordinate activities related to enterprise medical and safety governance, serve as the Secretariat of Global Safety Committee, including managing agenda, issue meeting minutes and follow-up on action items.
  • Set agenda for key cross-functional and management meetings, draft meeting minutes and follow-up on action items.
  • Work with department leaders to develop and prioritize department plans, identify obstacles and challenges, and develop solutions to address challenges.
  • Focus on effective integration of the company’s strategies with regards to communication and execution across all medical functions
  • Coordinate cross-team projects as needed; act as the interface between teams and functions and responds/delegates work to the respective owners, and follow-up as needed.
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels; build strong relationships across the organization to drive progress on complex issues among groups of diverse technical experts.
  • Manage the flow of information / gathering inputs for key decisions within medical functions and across the organization including business and planning processes, strategic management meetings, communications, and reporting.
  • Work with CMO to translate strategy into specific deliverables, prepare presentations and reports.
  • Drive and coordinate cross-functional initiatives and teamwork across the organization; collaborate and motivate cross functional teams to achieve overall enterprise goals.
  • Support CMO on Headcount, Budgeting / forecasting & consulting agreements.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
  • Proven ability to work independently and/or in a cross-functional, cross-cultural, and different time-zones in a virtual/remote environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and facilitation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or related discipline, advanced degree is strongly preferred (PhD, PharmD, Masters).
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and expert use PowerPoint for presentations
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant biopharma work experience
  • Strong leadership skills, with an ability to influence with and/or without authority.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Detailed and solution-oriented with the ability to ensure a high level of commitment to the overall success of the team, department, and organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast passed highly matrixed organization.
  • Prior experience as Chief of Staff or Project Manager highly desirable
