What We Do

Join First American as our next Director of Communications and help tell the story of how First American builds and delivers innovative solutions providing exceptional experiences to employees and customers. We need your writing expertise and flair to execute an impactful internal and external communications strategy. This role will also lead employee engagement activities to build upon our employee-centric workplace culture while providing guidance and counsel to senior leaders on all aspects of internal and external communications. The ideal candidate will also drive First American’s efforts in supporting our workplace communities.

What You’ll do
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business unit communications strategy that aligns with our company’s business objectives to
further enhance the reputation of multiple lines of business
  • Engage as an active member with corporate marketing partners to bring employee experience into processes,
communications, and strategies.
  • Develop and execute all internal communications efforts including company communications, executive communications, and internal
event support such as Town Halls, Employee Appreciation Week, etc.
  • Develop, execute and deploy all external communications
  • Partner with marketing leaders, corporate communications, and executive team on cross company reviews/approvals
  • Manage leadership’s blog by providing unique ideas that ladder back to the business and connect/build relationships with
  • Develop and maintain effective channels of communication including email, executive blog, and social media
  • Develop compelling and succinct copy for all internal communications efforts
  • Provide foundational design on strategy and brand to maximize visual appeal

  • Proactively provide ideas to help drive increased employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Capture metrics and provide analysis to evaluate performance and gauge success
  • Deploy all communications through internal communications deployment system, including identifying/managing distribution lists
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that internal communications align with the overall business strategy and organizational
  • Ensure that all internal communications are timely, accurate and relevant to the needs of employees

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years progressive management experience
  • 10+ years in corporate communications or a related field, with a proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic communication plans
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and seamlessly shift priorities
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to communications and public disclosures
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and across departments to achieve goals
  • Foundational design skills – design team available for complex design needs
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Decisive and ability to drive to results

We welcome remote candidates, preferably working on CST or EST such as the Texas or Florida regions, but we’re flexible!
