Who are we hiring?
The Director of Knicks Basketball is responsible for directing all aspects of the on-air game production of Knicks games on MSGN. The Director, in conjunction with the Producer of Knicks Basketball, executes the creative vision and maintain the standard of quality of the Network for Knicks home and away telecasts, as well as directing any ancillary segments (i.e. pre-game, halftime, or post-game segments) considered part of the Network’s game presentation. The Director provides and manages the creative direction to the technical crew, works with the technical operations group to evaluate and maintain the quality and consistency of the home and road production crews. The Director serves as a liaison to league and team personnel and coordinates with the team’s event presentation group to ensure that all stakeholder needs are satisfied.
What will you do?

• Responsible for ensuring that the telecasts align with the creative vision of and meet the quality standards expected from MSG Networks.
• Responsible for directing all New York Knicks games on MSGN—pre-season, regular season, and post-season.
• Liaise with the league and team personnel as needed.
• This role requires DGA union membership.
• Responsible for coordinating with the team’s event presentation group to ensure that team-related initiatives are effectively executed.
• Understand and work with established budgets and make cost effective decisions.
• Oversee, manage, and provide effective, clear, creative direction for the home and road technical crews.
• Attend and actively participate in game-day production meetings.
• Responsible for creatively executing Network sales enhancements.
• Responsible for representing the company in a positive, professional manner on team charters, in the production truck, and in meetings with league and team personnel.

• Minimum of 5-10 years basketball directing experience.
• Demonstrated creativity, vision, and ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and to work collaboratively across various departments.
• Ability to work within designated budget objectives.
• High level of energy, passion, leadership, and commitment.
• Proven ability to make split-second decisions under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong time-management skills.
• Ability to follow--as well as give--effective direction.
