JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a talented, fast, and collaborative editor/animator to work with our video team. This role will work with our creative leads to create animations while also handling the full offline edit for one of our fast-moving clients. The edits will often be heavy animation but also involve integrating live action or stock footage. We are looking for mid-level professional who is quick to adapt to changes in design and direction and still maintain a high level of execution in a fast-paced environment. This ideal candidate will have the perfect blend of design and animation chops as well as creative editorial vision with a body of work to back it up.

This position is employed by eg+ and serves as an extension of the creative team for Dow Jones’s B2B and B2C marketing departments and our agency, eg+, located at 1285 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY.

Schedule: Hybrid - In office three days per week and 2 remote

Location: New York, NY - 1285 Avenue of the Americas, EG+ offices
Reports to: Associate Director, Post Production Studio

Salary: $90-105k

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to present the creative vision and business thinking behind concepts in a coherent and inspiring manner
• Develop templates and maintain asset libraries for use across multiple projects
• Self-starter from concept to execution
• Collaborate with stakeholders, graphic designers, and creative directors to bring their vision to life.
• Understanding client-side branding and vision with regards to speed and timing
• Ability to work and create independently, but also interpret, execute, and improve upon other team members concepts and ideas
• Create animation and motion graphics within the offline edit process, handle the full edit, and then any motion graphics needed in the finishing process.

• Track down specific asset requests that come from the Production team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Urge to continually expand repertoire by learning new software and techniques
• At least 4 years of motion graphics and edit experience in a web, broadcast, or marketing firm environment.
• After Effects (Boris FX Mocha and Red Giant Universe. Other BCC and Sapphire plugins are a plus.
• Knowledge of Davinci Resolve, VFX media and plates, and raw camera media.
• Proficient in Adobe premiere and solid understanding of how it integrates with After Effects software.
• Strong typography, composition, and storytelling abilities
• Must have experience with 2D animation. 3D experience a plus, i.e....Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D and plugins such as Red Shift, X-Particles, RealFlow, Octane, etc.
• Experience with compositing, multi-pass renders, and/or VR workflows a plus
• Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop as well as the ability to transfer layers and effects into After Effects.
