Job Description
Provide day-to-day operational support to the human resources department to promote employee engagement, professional development, and retention activities throughout the employee life cycle.


Pending PALT Approval.


  • Travel between campuses as required.
  • Collaborates with other human resources directors to maintain personnel records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Works with and coaches Executive and Administrative personnel to help them develop customized onboarding and succession planning protocols for their employees, as needed.
  • Develops budget recommendations and prepares budget requests with written narrative documenting budgetary needs for the employee professional development area.
  • Maintains, organizes and prepares summary analysis of survey data collected from employees, including Exit Surveys.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel records, paying special attention to Protected Health Information (PHI) of all employees.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Works with Executive and Administrative personnel to manage probationary reviews and assists with identifying appropriate professional development resources for employees.
  • Develops, plans, directs, and implements procedures to produce effective and efficient onboarding, new hire orientation, and employee training compliance.
  • Manages and oversees the College’s performance evaluation process (initial probation process and annual evaluations), including implementing recommendations for process improvement.
  • Plans, directs, and manages the various professional development portals and opportunities throughout the college to make ongoing professional opportunities accessible to all employees.
  • Assists the Associate Vice President Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer in the development of policies and procedures applicable to the human resource needs of the College.
  • Maintains employee records of professional development completed and monitors maintenance of any required licenses and certifications.
  • Collaborates with other human resources develop and carry out employee wellness initiatives.
  • Provides guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding laws, regulations, policies, procedures and practices related to employee retention matters.
  • Serves on various College committees as appointed.
  • Collaborates with Corporate College personnel to identify, organize, and manage professional development opportunities for employees.
  • Work with MIS and various departments to ensure data is accurate in the HRIS systems.
  • Maintain a valid Florida Driver License.
  • Collaborates to develop employee engagement strategies throughout the year, including employee recognition program.


A Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and 8 years of relevant experience.

Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position


  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to coach administrative and executive personnel on employee professional development issues.
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations/statutes.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and organization skills
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude. Comfortable with Microsoft products (to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).


Certification


  • Certification in an area of Human Resources, such as, Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification preferred, but not required.
