Job Description

We are seeking a D&I Programs Specialist to join any U.S. office. The D&I Programs Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Senior Diversity & Inclusion Manager with developing, implementing, and evaluating D&I programs, trainings, and initiatives that advance the firm’s goals in recruiting, developing, and promoting diverse lawyers and administrative professionals.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and be comfortable with extracting data summaries to identify D&I best practices and to develop objectives and action plans that align with the firm’s D&I goals and commitment. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service are strongly preferred.


KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Work with other members of the D&I team as well as cross functional partners and departments to promote the design, implementation, and evaluation of D&I programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Organize and extract data in a simple and intuitive format and present insights in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop relationships with lawyers and professional staff to become an advisor and resource for all diversity and inclusion questions and concerns, including internal, external, and client-related inquiries and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with our Client Growth team to grow the firm’s internal and external D&I brand. Provide regular updates about the firm’s D&I efforts through internal newsletters and intranet as well as external social media and other marketing materials.
  • Support the Senior D&I Manager in developing, implementing, and evaluating existing and new D&I programs and presentations including mentorship programs, client engagement programs, client and firm presentations, and trainings.
  • Assist in the planning, coordinating, and executing the periodic Diversity Retreat including, communications, logistics, speaker engagement, etc. to ensure an impactful and seamless event.
  • Support the Diversity Committee, Women in the Profession (WIP) Committee, and affiliated subcommittees and groups in executing their annual goals and objectives.
  • Support the firm’s efforts to further build an inclusive culture and retain and develop a diverse workforce.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Support the Senior D&I Manager in tracking expenses of the department’s budget.
  • Assist with the planning, coordinating, and promoting of internal and external engagements, events, and meetings including local WIP and Diversity Committee leadership meetings, conference sponsorships, firmwide speaker series, client roundtables, law school affinity group activities, cultural and heritage months/days, and other activities.
  • Partner with the D&I Data Specialist in drafting and tailoring qualitative D&I requests including RFPs, client reports, and Firmwide surveys and certifications such as the Mansfield Rule, Human Rights Campaign, Disability Equality Index, Working Mother, etc.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to details with interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • 5+ years of related experience, preferably in corporate or law firm environment.
  • Enjoys working with a highly collaborative team.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality of department information.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • A passion for DEI efforts.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and projects.
ADDITIONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Manual dexterity required for typing, reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.
  • Frequent computer and telephone use at workstation up to eight hours at a time.
  • Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.

Base Salary $67,500 - $126,000 / year

The base salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.
