Deadline: Video Director Jobs

Deadline is seeking a Video Director. This role requires hands-on partnership with the video team.

Responsibilities:

• Take responsibility for sponsored content and "for your consideration" campaigns on the video side, ensuring fulfillment.
• Work comfortably with A-list talent and their publicists during video production.
• Manage freelancers when required.
• Oversee and manage multiple shoots a week, including booking studio space and equipment.
• Attend regular meetings and collaborate with the Editorial, Social, Sales, Graphics and Events teams on the execution of current and upcoming projects.
• Track videos, create analytics reports, and communicate with PMC Corporate to implement best practices.
• Organize assignments and distribute tasks among team members.
• Track, organize, and manage equipment, ensuring proper handling and distribution among the team. Responsible for backing up, organizing and archiving digital files across hard disk media and cloud servers.
• Lead a team of video producers and editors, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day assignments.
• Ensure smooth operation and optimal performance during virtual productions. Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during virtual productions, promptly finding and implementing appropriate solutions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in every aspect of a film shoot.
• Serve as the project manager for all video and audio projects, ensuring final quality checks are conducted.
• Oversee the execution of video intros, outros, motion templates, podcast artwork, and thumbnails.
• Film and edit video series, podcasts, live events, and film festival studios.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere and After Effects to edit and enhance videos.
• Project management skills, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proven experience in video production, including filming and editing.
• 7 – 10 years’ experience preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team, providing guidance and support.

• Familiarity with industry-standard virtual platforms such as Zoom and Riverside.fm.
• Availability for international travel and flexible working hours, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to handle equipment and ensure proper distribution within the team.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various teams.

Typical wage range: $90K - $100K

Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
