Job Summary
The Camera & Post-production Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Post-production Manager and Camera Equipment Manager with gear prepping, organization, management and repair, as well as assisting in media management of footage, helping to maintain the post-production server, and archiving projects.
The Camera and Post-production Assistant will also be on set assisting in transportation, build and breakdown of camera and grip equipment.
We are looking for someone with an interest and some experience in both on set production and post-production, with an eagerness to learn and grow.
This is a part-time position.
Roles and Responsibilities
Candidates should be creative, well-organized self-starters. Expect to work with a small team and wear several different hats.
- Assist in management of camera and grip equipment, including cleaning, organization, and repairs
- Assist in media management for individual projects including media offloading and duplication, footage syncing, footage organizing, and archiving
- Prepare camera and grip equipment for use on set
- Assist in transportation and use of equipment as well as driving a small grip van
- Help maintain the post-production server while upholding project standards and processes
Requirements
- Sound judgment as well as the ability to think creatively and strategically
- Ability to thrive in a fast, client-serving environment where every challenge and every day is different and deadline-driven
- Experience working on video projects
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proactive approach to assuming responsibility for deliverables and moving team goals forward
- Drivers’ license and comfort driving a cargo van
- Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy video and lighting equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Adobe Premiere
- Experience managing projects in Slack, Frame.io, and Vimeo
- Bachelor’s degree in video production or related field
