Consultant, Energy Efficiency Sustainability Solutions


Spokane, Washington (with Telecommute Option)


Job Duties: Use complex mathematical and analytical methods to analyze, model, and interpret complex statistical data relating to the development of energy efficiency solutions for ENGIE Impact’s clients, particularly in the area of decarbonization. Specific responsibilities include:


  • Interact with clients and present findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Analyze, model, and interpret statistical data using the analytical and mathematical techniques of engineering to develop emission reduction/decarbonization strategic solutions.
  • Conduct research and develop oral and written briefings on industry trends, including technological and regulatory developments for energy efficiency/emission reductions, sustainability and/or decarbonization.
  • Contribute to the development and structuring of ENGIE Impact’s client offerings based on data and energy efficiency analysis as it relates to decarbonization and sustainability strategies.
  • Conduct energy/emission reduction projects and associated findings onsite at client locations.
  • Facilitate internal teams of 2-3 Energy Efficiency Analysts/Consultants in technical and non-technical business development.
  • Co-host large groups (10-50 people) of client representatives.
  • Create and manage databases and key data for ENGIE Impact’s Solutions team.
  • Develop and prepare high-quality client-facing materials based on research and the analysis and modeling of data.
  • Create data visualizations and web-based tools for analyzing, modeling, and interpreting statistical data.
  • Structure and lead technical analysis of data for energy efficiency and using ENGIE Impact’s proprietary tools.


This position is located at ENGIE Impact’s Spokane, Washington headquarters, with the option to telecommute from anywhere in the United States. Travel up to 10 days per year may be required to client worksites and up to 20 days per year to ENGIE Impact’s worksites in New York, Los Angeles, and Oakland.


Minimum Requirements:


Either a Bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent in mechanical, civil, electrical, or environmental engineering, or a closely related field, and 5 years of progressively responsible experience as an Energy Efficiency Consultant, as an Engineer, or in another occupation closely related to energy efficiency; or a Master’s degree or the foreign equivalent in mechanical, civil, electrical, or environmental engineering, or a closely related field, and 3 years of experience as an Energy Efficiency Consultant, as an Engineer, or in another occupation closely related to energy efficiency. Experience to include:


  • 3 years experience working directly with utilities on tariffs and rate structures or analyzing utility tariffs and rate structures.
  • 3 years identifying savings opportunities based on energy data.
  • 2 years interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • 3 years operating, designing or implementing process improvement with a building management system.
  • 3 years performing energy assessments within industrial/manufacturing settings .
  • 3 years working with industrial/ manufacturing plant equipment including boilers and heat exchange equipment, compressors, chillers, and large pumps.
  • 2 years using advanced data visualization tools and programming environments .


The position also requires:


  • Certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), or a Professional Engineer (PE) license in any engineering subfield from a U.S. state or territory.


All education, experience, and training may be gained concurrently. Applicants must be U.S. workers (includes U.S. citizens, permanent residents, foreign nationals granted temporary residence under one of the 1986 legalization programs, refugees, and asylees). Salary offered is $148,400 per year for 40+ hours of work.
