Job Description

Tidal Impact is a global ESG and impact measurement & management firm with presence in Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Berlin and Dubai.

We are currently offering ESG and sustainability professionals the opportunity to apply their passion in an entrepreneurial environment and collaborate with leading professionals. Our team includes sustainability management experts, communication specialists, designers, andcopywriters with subject matter expertise across the domain of ESG and impact measurement & management. Tidal Impact’s team has providesstrategic guidance to a broad spectrum of clients and industry sectors, ranging from startups and private equity firms to corporate partners and governments, in a variety of sectors including financialservices, agriculture, energy, food and beverage, information technology, infrastructure, manufacturing, mining, manufacturing, and telecom.

We are seeking ESG and Sustainability Consultantsto work remotelyandsupport our growing business on a project by project basis. AsaContractor with potential full-time employment.


Key responsibilities include:

  1. Applying a deep understanding of the ESG landscape, regulatory requirements, reporting frameworks, rating agencies, and best practices;
  2. Guide clients through the process of establishing sustainability priorities and strategy by leading activities such as materiality assessments and industry benchmarking;
  3. ESG risk and opportunity assessments;
  4. Enable clients to credibly act on sustainability strategies through ESG target-setting, implementation planning, and performance monitoring;
  5. Develop ESG reports in alignment with global standards including ISSB, SASB, GRI, and TCFD. Knowledge of the UK Stewardship Code is a plus.
  6. Lead projects from inception to completion, including activities such as: identifying new opportunities with clients, project design, advising on project strategy and management, providing technical oversight and quality assurance, and serving as a strategic partner to clients;
  7. Drive growth by effectively managing client relationships, quickly mobilizing teams to respond to client needs, and delivering high quality technical work products;
  8. Along with the Chief Impact Officer, the Consultant is expected to co-lead a team of contractors focused on copywriting, designing and project management
  9. Communicate effectively to both internal and externalstakeholders, including executives, in order to represent Tidal Impact’s ESG Advisory team as the partner best positioned to turn clients’ ESG strategy into action;
  10. Develop, foster and maintain client relationships by understanding and interpreting industry trends, client needs, stakeholder priorities, and overall business objectives.

Core competencies required:

  1. Comprehensive understanding of ESG disclosure standards including ISSB, GRI, SASB and TCFD;
  2. Expertise inconductingbenchmark analysis, materiality assessments and stakeholder engagements;
  3. Expertise indevelopingESG strategies;
  4. Expertise inESGgaps,risk and opportunity assessments;
  5. Expertise in impact measurement frameworks and how they could be customized for different industries;
  6. Advanced writing skills, with the ability to comfortably draft ESG reports from a creative language perspective, developing engaging case studies, in addition to the technical requirements of different ESG standards;
  7. Exceptional client management skills, with the ability to manage the relationship independently and effectively, and provide clients with compelling presentations and different engagement tools;
  8. Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage team members, create timelines, monitor tasks and ensure continuous communication with all stakeholders;
  9. Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of the evolving ESG news, developments and key influencing global drivers.

Additionalnice to have competencies includean understanding of:

  1. Climate change adaptation and planning;
  2. Decarbonization planning and program management;
  3. Nature-based solutions, supply chain management, assessment;
  4. Management of worker, consumer, and community health risks;
  5. Community engagement and environmental justice;
  6. Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission quantification and verification;
