Job Description

What you will be doing:

Ensures that all our campuses and personnel comply with applicable federal regulations as well as the school’s policies and procedures by performing internal operational audits and making recommendations designed to establish and/or strengthen compliance.

  • Federal Regulations Specialist overseeing the following, but not limited, areas:

o Veterans Affairs, SCO

o Title IV Regulations

o Clery Act Management

o IPEDS Reporting

o Internal Auditing

o Third-Party and Campus Audits

o Cohort Default Rate Management

  • Attend webinars, conferences, and workshops provided by the Dept. of Education, Dept. of Veteran Affairs, and other applicable governing bodies.
  • Works closely with the Director of Financial Services to ensure adherence to federal, state, and accrediting agencies' regulatory requirements such as refund procedures, etc.
  • Prepares and completes regulatory agency applications and documentation such as new program applications, program modification applications, regulatory agency responses, and catalog update notifications.
  • Ensure campuses comply with all sections of the Clery Act while maintaining the Crime and Safety manuals each year.
  • Data analysis and campus reporting to IPEDS.
  • Coordinates with school leadership to ensure preparation for any upcoming federal program reviews, VA compliance surveys, third-party servicer audits, or other regulatory body site visits.
  • Ensures overall Veteran Affairs compliance by assisting members of the VA team where applicable, while also monitoring 85/15, SAP, Student Attendance, etc.
  • Monitors cohort default rates at each campus and prepares default management plans, where applicable.
  • Ensures policies and procedures for all departments align with current federal regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Salesforce experience is a plus
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in Higher Education. Preferably with a focus on Title IV and Veteran Affairs regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience.
