As part of Chartwells Higher Education, delivering on our promises, we’ll engage leadership to support the business with dedicated resources that guarantee effective operations from sourcing to service, as well as implementing successful long term strategic plans.
We empower our personnel to drive business objectives, manage the ongoing growth of the program and achieve and maintain operational excellence. This position will provide value-added culinary leadership, training, and action planning to enhance our culinary operations at the assigned account. In addition, you will access food and labor costs including waste reduction while recommending long-term solutions to benefit productivity and margin enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and deliver conclusions from culinary assessment to assist and implement account’s business goals.
- Collaborate, identify and recommend areas of continuous improvement for products, processes, and procedures in menu development and delivery for account.
- Promote process improvements, service enhancements, and solutions within account. customers.
- Support culinary activities at new account openings.
- Partner with Senior Culinary Consultant to drive account success by consulting on all aspects of culinary operations through analysis during on-site visits and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Provide kitchen/operations assessment for account by collaborating with team members to build action plans and training to address short and long-term goals.
- Provide reporting to measure impact of culinary activities for tracking, key performance indicators, and account review.
- Serve as product knowledge expert for support and training staff in on new initiatives and skill enhancement.
- Demonstrate potential solutions including culinary, ideation, multi-task preparation, waste reduction, and presentation of product.
- Actively pursue continuous learning of industry knowledge to ensure selection and delivery of best insights for account.
- Assist account in establishing and executing strategic purchasing initiatives to drive revenues and contract utilization.
- Complete menu research and development to promote contract targeted products; work in conjunction with account to provide culinary input and advice; assess and evaluate new products and develop materials to increase use of products and on-going customer awareness of such products.
Qualifications
- Menu development and/or training experience is a plus
- Ability to work in groups as well as individually while holding multiple stakeholders accountable to outcomes
- Demonstrated experience as a solution provider and problem solver
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Services Technology/Management/or related field preferred
- Three plus years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
- Strong culinary background and/or operational background preferred in multi-unit management of hotel outlets and/or restaurants
- Ability to travel up to 65% annually
- Excellent professional presentation and interpersonal skills combined with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Culinary degree preferred
- Strong organizational skills needed to manage multiple projects
- Proven ability to multi-task within concurrent projects with quick deadlines
