Duties

Summary

You will serve as a Master Planner for KSC responsible for managing the comprehensive master planning activities to promote best use of the Center's land, facilities and related resources. You will participate in the Agency Master Planning Community of Practice, facilitate onsite stakeholder engagement, identify Center future requirements, and help lead the development of the Center Master Plan.

In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-12, you must have: a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level: Utilizing geographic information systems and databases to support facility planning and infrastructure; Interacting with a wide variety of stakeholders to balance competing and differing interests in a cohesive manner; Supporting strategic plans and assisting in making recommendations on master planning and development. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Utilizing accepted urban planning methods to formulate official plans on the use of lands, facilities, and assets; Collaborating with a variety of working groups to build consensus on master planning topics such as facilities planning, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, real estate, budget, and/or resource management; Carrying out strategic plans and making recommendations that have long-term impacts on community development.
