Climate Science And Policy Researcher/Writer

The Institute for Governance & Sustainable Development (IGSD) is recruiting a full-time research associate with a strong science background and writing expertise to support our non-CO₂, fast mitigation efforts.

Responsibilities

The research associate will work closely with IGSD President Durwood Zaelke and Chief Scientist, Dr. Gabrielle Dreyfus. For an example of the type of research we do, see here and here. You will be responsible for reviewing and compiling incoming climate literature and preparing high-quality internal reports, white papers, and other written communications materials.

Minimum Qualifications

• Familiarity with climate change concepts, climate models, and integrated assessment models (IAMs);
• Interest in working at the intersection of science and policy related to climate mitigation;
• Demonstrable writing and editing skills and experience;
• Masters degree in Earth and planetary sciences or related field;
• 1 – 3 years work experience.
• Comfort reading and interpreting scientific information;

Desired Qualifications

• Law school degree or similar experience with legal analysis and writing expertise.
