Job Description
Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Agency Services team as an Associate Policy Administrator!
About The Role
In this position, you are responsible for supporting the new business and various customer service and contract administration functions to in-force Life, Disability and Voluntary Benefits. You’ll work within a team that provides service and support to Premium, Commission, Underwriting, Claims, and Field sales and service teams.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with Symetra sales, field and home office service teams
  • Participate in projects and training initiatives as assigned
  • Manage daily work assignments and work within daily Service Level Agreements
  • Handling and managing multiple enrollment file feeds for customers, to include file testing
  • Excellent customer service skills and able to handle daily customer calls and emails
  • Working within multiple applications and workflows to include identifying new ideas to enhance improved processes
  • Process and analyze member updates for group life, disability and voluntary coverages with high level of daily transactions, which includes data entry and file uploads
  • Ability to work with both internal and external partners and entails both verbal and written communication with policy holders, applicants and brokers on sensitive and personal information
  • Obtain and maintain basic knowledge of products, processes, industry and company rules
  • May be cross-trained to process and analyze Evidence of Insurability applications for group life and disability coverage following set guidelines for approval or declination with high level of daily transactions
  • May be cross-trained to process and analyze Portability Continuation applications for group life coverage

Compensation
Hourly Range: $21.00 - $31.07 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Your Education, Experience And Skills
  • Multi-task and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Detail orientation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively with internal and external partners, via email and phone call
  • Microsoft Office product proficiency (excel at intermediate level +)
  • Learn and apply a sophisticated system and set of rules and guides
  • Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation skills
  • Insurance knowledge strongly preferred
  • 1+ years’ experience in a fast-paced team environment
  • 1-2 years of data entry experience preferred
  • Strong Planning, Prioritizing, Organizational skills
