Job Description

DATA MANAGER

Non-Exempt
General Definition of Work
Performs intermediate technical work maintaining an information resource, ensuring data consistency
and integrity, collecting and reporting related information, working with users to design and create
requested or required reports or databases, participating in testing and implementation, and related work
as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Accountability
Services.


Qualification Requirements

  • Associate degree, 48 hours of college coursework or 5 years of experience in the field.

Salary
Grade 60 to 63 depending on location

Reports to
Principal

Essential Functions
• Maintains and utilizes the computerized student information system including student enrollment

information, demographics, immunizations and emergency contact information.
  • Maintains computer records of students' scores on state mandated tests and standardized tests.
  • Prepares and or maintains computer records of student attendance; enters data from submitted
forms, review late-arrival forms, and reconciles absences to create absence and tardy reports.
  • Prepares correspondence to parents to advise them of excessive absences according to
established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and generates, and distributes students demographic, scheduling and grading
information.
  • Maintains records of student suspensions, student withdrawal from school, record reasons for
students withdrawal and student's plans and prepares periodic statistical reports.
  • Prepares attendance reports and reconciles manual and computer reports.
  • Provides information and training to school staff on the use of the student information system
  • Facilitates transfers of student information between schools.
  • Accesses the internet to download student information software and upload files.

• General knowledge of computers, computer commands, peripherals, and various operating

Manual.
  • Thorough knowledge of district policies, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • General knowledge of HTML programming documentation.
  • Skills in the use of graphic user interfaces.
  • Thorough skill creating and maintaining reports related to student activities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct minor hardware and software problems.
  • General knowledge of SQL-statements.
  • Thorough knowledge of specific software types and reports used in a school system.
  • Ability to communicate well with school personnel, parents, students, and central office staff
  • Considerable knowledge of data management, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in correcting data errors or omissions.
  • Thorough skill operating standard office equipment and related hardware and software.

• This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.

crawling, reaching with hands and arms, lifting and repetitive motions.
