The Chief of Staff to the President & Chief Marketing Officer advances the CMO’s agenda and drives a culture of performance, agility, accountability, alignment, and collaboration across the Marketing organization. The CoS is a trusted, experienced, innovative marketer and gracious team player who is completely in sync with the CMO.


The Marketing organization is leading and living through change. The Chief of Staff is a strategic partner to the CMO and CMO Directs and helps identify priorities, communicate with clarity, partner across Salesforce, lead through that change, and quantify impact. The CoS listens, synthesizes, aligns, leads, inspires, collaborates, and connects, always with an eye toward both immediate impact and long-term brand value.


The Chief of Staff also offers CMO extensibility with customers, executive stakeholders and partners, ready to represent the CMO and marketers at high-stakes meetings.

The Chief Of Staff Will


  • In partnership with Employee Success and Communications, deepen connection, culture, and engagement across the marketing organization.
  • Partner with Employee Success and Finance Business partners
  • Align marketing leaders to the CMO’s strategic priorities and direct contribution to CMO’s work; facilitating conversations to gain agreement among leaders within this team and with leaders outside this team
  • Represent the President and Chief Marketing Officer at significant Salesforce events including customer events; ability to represent Salesforce in front of customers
  • Support the CMO on complex initiatives that require significant strategy and analysis, including tasks that span multiple global functions. Work with extreme efficiency and organization to prioritize and streamline initiatives
  • Bring workforce management planning programs to shift processes and behavior, rallying other leaders on this team to support and inspire innovative ways to work
  • Bring a perspective to customer experience; able to drive initiatives with little to no direction
  • Work in close proximity to the CMO


Experience


  • Analytical skill set with the ability to work closely with technical data analysts
  • Prior strategy experience, or leadership experience in a Chief of Staff, Chief Operating Officer, or Strategy Leader role
  • 15+ years as an experienced and successful marketing leader in a global software company with multi-billion dollar revenue
  • Demonstrated ability to execute on strategy and drive outcomes; proven understanding of how to drive revenue and operationalize
  • Experience with shared services, coupled with a deep understanding of go-to-market motions

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, Salesforce will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.


For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $235,700 to $377,200.


Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
