What You Will Do:
This role will support the operations for the Global Technology Standards (GTS) Team. GTS is working to align Cisco’s technical standards work to company strategy, set the industry trajectory at the intersection of standards and open source, and streamline internal standards operations. In this role, you will manage an ongoing speaker series called the Cisco Standards Hour. You will utilize your change management and business transformation skills to build and implement a strong and creative communication plan to evangelize GTS, support current standards leaders, and build a strong pipeline of new standards leaders. You will help emerging leaders blossom by creating and implementing education plans, training materials, and supporting a mentorship program.
You will work cross-functionally with stakeholders to help accelerate the journey from manual processes and old forms of communication to new. You will apply your innovative mindset to establish continual process improvements.
Other Responsibilities:
• Help increase awareness and visibility of GTS and standards related projects and programs across Cisco.
• Create global technical standards related news articles and respond to requests for news for Cisco internal publication.
• Build and manage the execution of a marketing and communications plan to evangelize GTS, and the services it provides, across the company.
• Focus on effective communication and information flow between GTS and stakeholders and gather stakeholder feedback.
• Provide communication and training for GTS processes, standards leadership roles, tools, and capabilities.
• Define and report on metrics.
• Carry out stakeholder surveys (create, execute, & analyze) to define user needs.
• Manage Standards Hour from start to finish (Standards Hour is a long-running series of internal talks about technical standards activities.):
o Manage speaker and host schedules.
o Schedule meetings.
o Advertise upcoming sessions.
o Create speaker guidelines and template.
o Work with speakers to ensure preparation.
o Post slides and recordings after the meetings.
o Conduct post meeting surveys and provide outcomes.
o Keep meeting metrics.
o Run campaigns to recruit new speakers.
• Create/refine/automate processes, templates, instructions, playbooks, educational & guidance material for the Cisco standards community.
o Identify gaps in process.
o Brainstorm ideas to optimize workflows.
o Integrate change management activities.
o Build plans to implement improvements.
o Drive multi-functional timelines.
o Address conflicting priorities across multiple teams.
o Identify risks and blockers.
o Help drive decisions.

Must Haves:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, or Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience with similar groups and efforts.
• Minimum 5+ years as a change manager, or in communications and training development.
• Demonstrated strong communications, change management and business transformation skills and experience.
• Solid understanding of product development life cycle models as well as authoritative knowledge of modern project/program management methodologies and tools.
• Strong professional writing, editing, proofreading, layout, and design skills are essential.
• Exceptional ability to present concepts verbally.
