Job Description

We are excited to be working on a global role for a leading law firm at BD specialist level, working as part of a Global team, giving you a clear pathway to come in at this level and work towards progression to BDM level.


Therefore, we would welcome engagement from individuals either at specialist level at the minute or those seeking to step into that level for the first and be part of a global team.


It's also worth us stating that we don’t require specific sector/practice knowledge to apply for this role, however prior experience of operating in a BD role within a partnership model would be highly advantageous.


An overview to the position

The role is covering the firms specialist and highly regarded Mobility and Transportation group, you will be working with colleagues, Partners and the firms client base across North America and Europe, giving you the opportunity to be part of a truly global team. The sector is very diverse in the clients that it works with and has some exciting and interesting components given the transformation the industry is going through, an example of this is around the clean energy space and how this overlaps into Electric Vehicles and broader ESG topics.


You will be one of two people within this group based in Washington DC, working alongside an experienced and impressive management team, who will help with your professional development into a management level position. Therefore, the role will have a decent amount of autonomy whilst also proving a platform for great mid-long term career development. You will also have the support of a BD Coordinator, that will report into this role and is also based in the DC office.


Duties included within the post


  • Working with the Senior Manager & BDM for the group, be involved in the planning, budgeting and implementation for the global business plans for the group. To maximise the effectiveness of the plans you will be involved in client analysis & market research to coordinate these together.
  • Evaluating and coordinating an events programme from the group, taking a closer look at monitoring ROI on events expenditure to maximise the commercial opportunities from these.
  • Take an active part in creating compelling though leadership pieces for the firms global groups, working with the fee earners to raise their profiles in specific targeted sectors.
  • Supporting the centralised Global pitch function on market specific proposals, being able to give insight and advice on how to approach these to enhance the win ratio for the group.
  • An opportunity to key account manage some of the firms core client relationships within the group, this could also allow you the opportunity to be involved with client feedback engagement.
